Great camcorder, but still room for improvement

I bought this camcorder mainly because of the price. I got it for $692 and there is a $100 mail-in rebate to be redeemed.

Good price for the quality

A lot of useful accessaries not included

Panasonic PV-DV800 Digital Palmcorder: The No-Frills Camcorder

Consider it the base model of digital camcorders, like a Chevy Cavalier or Honda Civic. It's fun, sturdy, dependable and relatively inexpensive, but don?t hurt yourself looking for the extras; they aren?t there.

Light, easy to use, intuitive design, good price

Large, lower resolution still shots, no remote

Panasonic's Best: PV-DV800

The Panasonic PV DV-800 camcorder model is the top Panasonic digital mini-DV year-2000 model. There are parts of the design which I do NOT like, and I will start with those. These are likely applicable to the PV-DV100, 200, 400 and 600, as well.

18x optical zoom for movies & pics

Poor low light movies, poor designs
