Panasonic PV-DV800 Camcorder Review - Panasonic MiniDV Camcorders

The PV-DV800 is a higher end model in Panasonic's Digital line. It has an MSRP of $1,399. The camcorder has the standard IEEE1394 FireWire editing protocol that transfers your footage to a computer for digital editing. The camcorder includes an 8mb...

Great camcorder, but still room for improvement

I bought this camcorder mainly because of the price. I got it for $692 and there is a $100 mail-in rebate to be redeemed.

Good price for the quality

A lot of useful accessaries not included

Do not buy this Camera.

I had a JVC GR-DVL805U, I used to complain about the motor noise and no microphone input, the battery life and how fragile this camera is, and then I decided to go to a better camera, Panasonic PV-DV800, I sold my JVC and bought this camera, the camera...

Extra large battery, excellent image stabilizer, DV recording, audio input, 8 MB still

Panasonic PV-DV800 Digital Palmcorder: The No-Frills Camcorder

Consider it the base model of digital camcorders, like a Chevy Cavalier or Honda Civic. It's fun, sturdy, dependable and relatively inexpensive, but don't hurt yourself looking for the extras; they aren't there.

Light, easy to use, intuitive design, good price

Large, lower resolution still shots, no remote

Panasonic's Best: PV-DV800

The Panasonic PV DV-800 camcorder model is the top Panasonic digital mini-DV year-2000 model. There are parts of the design which I do NOT like, and I will start with those. These are likely applicable to the PV-DV100, 200, 400 and 600, as well.

18x optical zoom for movies & pics

Poor low light movies, poor designs
