JVC Everio GZ-MG37
Stores up to 37 hours of video; 32X zoom; very small and light; easy and fast video transfer to computer.
Poor video quality and low-light performance; aspect-ratio issues with third-party software and wide-screen footage.
The JVC Everio GZ-MG37's disappointing video quality completely overwhelms the advantages of its small size and massive video capacity.

JVC seems to have a hard disk camcorder for every occasion, with five models now on offer in the Everio range. The GZ-MG37 is the second lowest priced...
Easy to use, nice design, long zoom
Poor video quality, poor still quality
A well designed camcorder that offers 32x optical zoom and an impressive 30GB of storage space, however it is let down by poor image quality.

The JVC Everio MG37 seems like a good idea on paper but not in practice. Read how it falls short in our review.

The GZ-MG37 ($799 MSRP) is the follow-up model to last year's MG30, the penultimate model in the hard disk dive (HDD) Everio camcorders. The camcorder captures video to a 30GB HDD, enough for 7 hours of the highest quality video and 37 hours of the...
Convenient, -True wide angle of 55 degrees, -32x optical zoom, -SD memory card for still images
200 additional software purchase for Direct to DVD capabilities, -Terrible menu structure, -No analog-to-digital pass-through, -No mic input
Expert review by : David Kender (camcorderinfo.com)
JVC has updated their entire G-series in the hard disk drive (HDD) Everio line for 2006. Last year, we felt that the asking price for these camcorders was completely incommensurate with the low video quality. While "convenience" is JVC's sticking...

The JVC GZ-MG37 has made no improvements from last year's MG30 specs – a 1/6" CCD with 680K gross pixel count. The camcorder shoots in four image qualities; the highest, Ultra, records at a variable bit rate with a maximum of 8.5 Mbps (quality vs. bit...
Consumer review (newegg.com)
I mainly bought this camera to shoot outdoor video of my boys football games and my daughters soccer games. If you seek good video, with good sound and so-so digital stills this ones for you. If you require great still photos, you'll be dissapointed.
The zoom is phenomenol, I was on the empire state building observation deck and I could zoom in on peoples faces down below. Very nice video quality with respectable sound, also very compact, about the size of 2 cigarette boxes back to back
The weak part about this camera is the Digital camera picture quality. Very grainy, comparable to a 1-2 mega pixel digital camera, however they did make a SDram slot available if you dont like using the hard drive for stills. Also, indoor low light...
Consumer review (shopping.com)
This is a perfectly functional camcorder for outdoor use. It's lacking in it's indoor & low light capabilities, though. If you're looking to take mostly indoor vids, you might want to keep looking. The outdoor vids are crisp, clear & of good...
Lightweight, Compact, Easy to Use
Bad in Low Light, Poor Sound
Consumer review (viewpoints.com)
i got this camcorder as a way for me to record our vacations that we take as a family during the year. it is not the best cam corder that i have ever used or owned in my life. i think that i can probably do better the next time that i go and buy myself...
