If you have to shoot a lot of video, and quality matters, you really can't beat a camcorder. Today's point-and-shoot cameras take good enough video and some DSLRs can take great video, but a camcorder is still the best way to get high quality, maximum...

The JVC Everio GZ-HM300 HD Camcorder is extremely lightweight, and has very high optical zoom (20x) and digital zoom (200x), which makes it easy to zoom in on most anything. Video recording procedures were relatively easy, however consumer testers were...

Good value for money
Probably not good recordings under poor light conditions. But works excellent on good light conditions

You really can't beat this JVC Everio for the price. Got it for a trip figuring if it died, so be it. $130 isn't too big of a hit to take. 2+ years later, it's still working strong and still love it. Yes, there's newer ones now, with more features,...
I've had mine for 2 years now and continues work great. Have owned old school JVC camcorders before (the ones that used tapes!) and they always worked well, so when I saw this for just $130, with all the features listing, had to give it a shot. Figured...
Battery life could be longer. It'll last 1 hr and that's not changed over the last 2+ yrs of use. Battery life was listed and known in advance and not a surprise, so no stars deducted.

I own a Canon Vixia HV30 and the JVC GZ-HM300U tops the quality with the exception of indoor low light shooting.
Great video with excellent focus and colors. Using the uxp and uxC modes give the best HD video I have ever seen and the image stablizer works well. Received a refurbished as a gift and have had no problems with it so far. Finished bluray disc using...
The wide angle is not so good. So I purchased a after market wide angle lens. That's a easy solution. The indoor low light shooting is very grainy.

Very nice videos......when it was working
Don't power on. Quit working 2 months after purchase.

This is a great HD video camcorder. The quality of outdoor videos are unbeleaveable. The indoor quality is very good as long as you have good lighting. Low light quality suffers just a bit. I like the fact that you can take a picture while you are...
Price, HD Video quality, features.

Really Cheap Has a good 20x optical zoom light weight compact
No automatic shutters... for product valued of $400 .. I would expect a automatic shutters for the lens
Consumer review (newegg.com)
At $125 out the door the GZ-HM300 is steal, and most entry level camcorders will have similar cons.Re-certified stickers are ugly and not fun to remove. For Don use Google before slam a camcorder, batteries are easy to find just look
Really nice outdoor videos. Opening/closing the LCD turns on/off the device automatically. Effective optical zoom. Lightweight form factor, and pocketable.
Adjusting color results in pixelation Battery life is too short, about 1 hour Mid- to low-light picture is grainy, but about the same as the DVI-tape based camcorder it replaced. Using night owl setting in low light, the camcorder will not focus Software...
