Zonet ZVC7630W Wireless IP Camera

At first glance, Zonet's ZVC7630W Wi-Fi webcam seems to be a lust-worthy device. It's equipped with a two-way intercom, automatic night-vision mode, a USB port for external storage, and software that supports up to 16 cameras. Our enthusiasm dwindled,...

Night vision, two-way audio, USB host feature, supports WPA/WPA2

Expensive, no built-in speaker, fuzzy image quality, crappy software

But our biggest complaint about the ZVC7630W isn’t with the hardware, it’s with the software. Compared to the slick user interface in Logitech’s WiLife webcam system, Zonet’s UltraView UI looks as though it was designed and laid out in 10 minutes. You...

Works pretty good!

Just to set the record straight, you can hook a speaker up to this thing to turn it into a true 2 way system. I bought a second one I like it so much.

supports WPA, works well, many many options for video stream. built in dynamic dns support, so you can view it from the world wide wobble

when the house power glitches or the router is rebooted, it needs to be power cycled. This has happened about 4 times in two years

Good at first

They need to iron out the bugs with the motion detection and stop these lock ups.

Good picture, night vision is pretty good compared to other cameras

I'm on my second camera now; the first camera locked up one day. Now the second camera is locking up after 2 or 3 days of motion detection, even after updating the firmware ; The motion detection is sometimes tricky to get right, it's quite sensitive...

Excellent wireless IP camera

Very good IP camera, excellent night vision technology. Pretty easy set up. Got this to use as a baby monitor so my family can see them logging in throughout the US. Very secure. Very good price for what you get

Not really a con, but would be nice to have an external speaker so you can two way

Excellent wireless IP camera

Overall, this is a *great* camera for the price, and I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

thumbs up

I just set up 6 of these in the machine shop I work in at MIT, so far so good. The only thing that might be cool is a built in speaker. The talk/listen feature is very neat but it would have been cool to have a speaker built in, even if it weren't good.

good picture, easy config, neat viewing program, ftp uploading

none really

Not that gret

You get what yo pay for

Night vision was cool

Color was not that great, and it would not work with the webcam xp S/W I use for my other webcams. Axis 207W is a much better cam. It sucks that I have to pay 30 dollars to send it back to New Egg

Good with exceptions

Documentation is poor... still waiting on a reply from tech support on how to view an RTSP stream (url in doc's either incomplete or rtsp streaming does not work), or embedding an HTTP stream in a webpage... still, better than the Linksys cam this...

Good low light monitoring... good motion detection... fairly easy to configure

Uses 830nm LED's, which are slightly visible in total darkness... camera does seem sensitive to shorter wavelenght IR however so self replacement or add-on stealth lighting may be possible. Does seem to drop wireless connectivity quite a bit (even when...

Pretty good

Good camera, motion sensor works well, and lots of options

More logging needed, I don't know when a user has logged in, so I wouldn't expose this to the Internet

Great Low-Light Monitoring

Functions as a "pet-cam" (scorpions) and is able to resolve them despite their small size and being enclosed in two layers of clear plastic. Operated from 1000 miles away for 2 weeks straight without needing to reset once.

Price - best in its class • 640x480 resolution • Infrared is bright and clear • Motion-detection works well, has threshold configuration (2 monitoring windows) • Wide array of event-capture services (FTP, email, net storage, USB storage) • Robust video...

Most of the controls unavailable in Mozilla (zoom, snapshot, record, etc) • It would be nice to force infrared instead of using auto light-detection. I got around this by taping the light-sensor. • Would also be nice to have the option of using 3 LEDs...
