Follow-up review

This is a follow-up review from my previous review in December of 2013. We've had this camera for over six months now and it has been working great. Recording 1080p with Zoneminder on Ubuntu 12.04. We just bought 15 more of these cameras, hope they...

1 in 3 Died, Short 60 day Warranty, Poor Customer Service

Avoid this company at all costs! For a $600 camera you would expect at least a 1 year warranty. We bought three of these units for use inside datacenter spaces, one of the units died within 6 weeks. When we tried to contact Vivotek for a return (RMA...

2 out of 3 units still work, 1 died within 5 weeks

1 in 3 units died within 3 weeks. Warranty period is only 60 days, customer service refused to replace unit with a new unit

Great camera w/ few annoyances

Overall a good camera, a lack of long cable from the camera wasn't a big deal as I just mounted the camera right onto an outdoor electrical box. Seems sturdy enough although not a perfect solution because if someone where to grab and hang onto the...

Great price ; Simple mounting system, easy to install ; Mount can keep the cable completely internal so it is not exposed to the elements and vandalism ; Flexible mounting options though, can move cable to rear of camera casing, or exit out of top or...

Mount and camera has little teeth/gears where they connect, this makes aiming your camera more difficult as you can't get precise positioning on the left and right ; Cable for camera is rather short, could make it challenging if you cannot have the...

we've had exccellent reliability with the other Vivotek cams here.... especially those supported by QNAP and Blue Iris systems ; this one is going to be installed at a receiving dock in a truck warehouse.... we expect to have it working right off ;...

Well built

wasn't sure about this brand but it's really holds its own against supposedly higher end brands i've used in the past.

I purchased 4 of these cameras about 4 months ago. I've used other brands but this camera has been the best out door bullet i've used to date. easy to install and great image

make sure you know what your doing or at least have a competent IT person to set this camera up to get the best results
