Panasonic BL-C1A Network Camera

PC related cameras on the market today usually refer to USB cameras that mount to the top of a monitor which gives the user the ability to send video to another with whom they are chatting with or could be used to record some sort of short video which...

The Panasonic BL-C1A is a very feature rich camera with its simplicity of power and network setup and simple menu driven setup menus. The additional compatibility with internet capable cell phones to pull up and view whatever the camera is viewing at...

Found a workaround for network limitation

Panasonic said that all their low cost cameras have this limitation.

Found a workaround for the Subnet limitation. If I create another subnet for the camera and then create a NAT address for it in the router, the camera will accept traffic from outside subnets. Basically simulating a small network for the camera

It would be a lot eaier if they just allowed all traffic to the camera or at least had the option to turn off the firewall so other subnets could see the camera

Panasonic BL-C1A 640 x 480 MAX Resolution RJ45 PetCam Network Camera

Image quality is not bad

This camera will not work if you have multiple subnets, it only works if you have one router with one network. All I needed was a cheap network camera and due to the programming of the firmware, this camera will not work on my network. Very dissapointed

Works with Android phone

Setup is annoying as it requires ActiveX, but once done you can get rid of that. It does want to assign itself an IP and you'll need to change this to your own static IP choice for best results with any kind of advanced firewall. I have this camera...

For a cheap IP camera, this is a pretty good deal. It does image and video capture and real-time streaming. If you have an Android phone you can use IP Can Viewer Lite to see what your camera is seeing. I found that very helpful last time I traveled...

Low light not the best, but it's a cheap camera. Instructions aren't too helpful (and the software that comes with it isn't the best - Google this camera for lots of helpful setup and capture info)

never work

never work

I am a couple of years TCP/IP network programming. I thought I should be able to setup this network camera without any problem so I ignore other owner's message about never working issue but I am wrong ; I have tried a couple of time but still doesn't...

Great Cheap Camera

OK, I love how everyone on newegg rates their tech knowledge as "high" and then says the most idiot things about the product proving they have zero tech knowledge at all. For instance, the guy who reviewed it and says: "Like most wireless devices they...

Probably the best camera you are going to find for this price. Night vision is not the best, but even with my porch lights it's fine. If you are looking to place this in total darkness or without any light at all, then pass on this camera

Not many. It's a $60 camera.... Hard to complain about a cheap camera, you get what you pay for

Power Cords NOT so Good

Just a basic web cam with cheap power cords. They have meet my basic needs for a few years. I am buying a 4th to add to my moms, but going to Radio Shack tomorrow to get a spare power cord.

Works good for the price, notice is called a "pet cam ; Not too hard to set up IF you follow the instructions ; Have had 3 of these in my mothers house for 3 of 4 years, with very little proplems. see cons

Power cords go bad after a year or two. All 3 of mine have. Its ok, Radio Shack has generic ones for like $10 ; Like most wireless devices they have to be unpluged once or twice a year ; I cannot get them to work with my Andoid cell phone. Requires...

Good for the price

Bought it after my landlord developed a habit of entering my apartment without notice or any kind of regard for time of day. It does work great and the motion detection works, but the fact that it can't upload videos, but only still shots taking very...

Cheap, decent looking

Does not record videos

Great!

Works great ; Easy to set up

Only reason I took an egg off is because it comes with trial software that has limited functionality, and the full version costs 300 bucks and is hard to get. you have to get it via 3rd party sites

Great camera

Cat5 wire is the most safe way to connect it to the router. Plan ahead where are you passing the cable. Needs an additional power outlet to run. If can't deal with the cable, get wireless model instead. I installed it on a window, against the glass....

Easy to set-up. Sharp image. Can be seen from the internet with auto-setup (Upnp) and user/password you set in the http server that the camera has

Can't see anything in the dark (I have a dark backyard, and at night I can see only the solar powered lights in it, no other details). If need night vision, don't get this one. Otherwise, with some light it works just fine
