We love webcams here at Pocket-lint - the chance to talk to those abroad via the Internet etc, but the problem with the webcam is that for the most part it has to be connected to your computer via a wire. In steps the Linksys Compact Wireless-G...
Once set up you don't need a PC, only cable is the power, SMS when motion detected, comes with static IP software, you can always check up on the camera
The best bits (ie the services) will cost you to keep running, it's small, but not spy small
Easy to install, setup and use, the Linksys Compact Wireless-G Internet Video Camera comes with a lot of extra strings attached. To get the most out of this camera you'll have to be prepared for additional yearly costs. If your find with that, then...

Motion detection, wireless
Image quality
The WVC54GC doesn't work well in poor lighting and the video image is only slightly better than most YouTube material. However, it's relatively cheap and has a reasonable array of security features.

WVC54G offers solid video performance for IP-based video.
Offers dynamic DNS for those on a dynamic IP address. Wirelessly connected.
Power cable doesn't neatly at the base of the camera stand. Power cable exposed.
Linksys's WVC54G offers solid video performance for IP-based video.

Internet camera with Power over Ethernet option and VGA (640X480) resolution
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
This is now a cheap way to get a web camera that works anywhere from any computer. It is also very good in low light situations.
Don't seem to be able to capture individual images so that they can be displayed on a website. It only works with Internet Explorer and not Firefox.
Consumer review (reevoo.com)
The camera offers a good image even in poor light conditions. Using the wireless control, it is easy to view on other local machines. The set up procedure is straight forward but a little technical.
The ip address of the camera is displayed on the front of it so anyone who sees the camera can record the address and access the images. The sound quality is not great. When the camera is loses power, a new ip address is given which needs to be changed...
