no frills, general purpose, high quality wifi cam

I do not use the "cloud" service that comes with this. I get similar functionality via my home automation system, which this integrates with perfectly.

The picture quality is excellent for this price range. It seems rock-solid and stable with the latest firmware and a strong wifi signal. It works great with Vera home automation systems and with any custom security system that uses IP cameras. You can...

Ships with old firmware. You need a PC to update it. You basically need to connect it to ethernet, download and unzip new firmware, update the firmware with the camera's web UI (after you figure out its IP address), then set the wifi password in the...

Good card, Great value, better than Xfired 270Xs.

Don't buy this unit. Newegg is GREAT site that I have been using for more than a dozen years. Sometimes I will buy a BAD product and it's not their fault!

It worked when I first set it up

Worked until I did a firmware update as RECOMMENDED on the Edimax website. The firmware loaded and updated I assume. The message said that it would automatically reboot. I waited 15 minutes ... I DID NOTHING ; Now I have a "dead device". I assume I...

Don't buy!

Great while it works

Worked very well until firmware upgrade bricked the device. Was past the 1 year warranty so left with a expensive piece of plastic due to the vendors firmware update ; Doing a firmware upgrade should NEVER kill a device when doing it correctly. Not...

Wireless stopped working after firmware 2.0 upgrade

For those who are curious and couldn't find using google: decide an arbitrary port (say, 12345), find out your ic-3115w ip in your router setting, set up to keep that ip tied to the camera mac address, create a forwarding from that port to port 80 of...

When working it's okay, ... for the price. I bought two and after initial set up I could get both working using wireless and I could set up to monitor both using my cellphone

Movement detection? Trying to adjust so many ways, it would detect anything and keep sending snapshots (fill up your storage unnecessarily). I could send both FTP and email ; Updated firmware upon purchase to 1.22, it worked. Then I learned upgrade 2.0...

Awesome for the price

I had trouble with it initially where it would not stay connected to the router and had to be re-started every couple days. After a firmware update, it has since been rock solid and I've had it outside (on my porch) running 24/7 for six months now -...

Image quality is fantastic - great wide angle view. Works well with Blue Iris software

No night vision and frame rate is too low at the highest resolution but I'm sure that varies depending on location of router/power of computer

Returned ! Would not stay connected to router.

Nice Case

Would not stay connected to the wireless router 10' away ; Useless for security. You must unplug and re-plug in the camera to get it to reconnect. Dropped out daily

update my review: Great inexpensive security cam

Make sure you install through Ethernet cable. it is easiest way to setup. Do NOT waste your time on setup like me. The software is free. I am able to install the security software (16CH) from CD and download the APP from Apple Store. No extra charge!...

The resolution is ok. It works just as described. Great value. Works very well once you completed setup ; update ; customer service is very efficient

I am not a technical savvy . It is a little hard to set up wirelessly. I think it might be easy if you know your home network... The audio are terrible..i am not able to hear any sound through iPhone ; update ; 2-way audio can only work on browser (PC...

Edimax IC3115W with BlueIris

I also have some cheepo Trendnet TV-IP110, Foscam FI8910W, ABS MegaCam 4210, and an old Axis Quad BNC to IP device. My cheepo Trendnets are still going strong after many years and the other cameras (like an outdoor HooToo) are ok but they aren't...

Was looking for a MEGAPIXEL ip camera and saw this on sale for a good deal. Took the small plunge and I must say I amVERY happy. I currently have this running with BlueIris (Windows) and Barry's LiveCams Pro (iOS) and a few other Apps (Android). I've...

Wish wireless antennae was readily detachable since all my cams are wired and on their own network. Didn't see an option to overlay the time and date. Wish web firmware as better but it's not all that important for my BlueIris setup. Set my passwords,...
