if you see one avilable second hand, pick it up and put in a new HDD it'll proably work. But as someone points out, the first time it formats it will go on forever if you let it, just unplug it and plug it back in the format will go fairly quickly.

Build quality is good but frequently let down on software, reliability of recording, long delay to bring up video feeds and a pain getting sensitivity for motion recording right. Not that big a fan especially for the price.
