Decent for Archival

If it had support for other resolutions and codecs, that would be nice. It's locked at 720x480 DV.

It has pretty good quality outputting to DV from a variety of source types

The component inputs were non-functional for me, which makes recording analog content at the highest quality impossible. Also, there is a delay of at least a second between whatever your source video is doing and what is outputted by DV. This makes...

Ext. capture card

Recognized as a camcorder in the Capture Viewer(DELL)..I'm useing this product w/Windows 7 HP and its excellent..with ROXIO Creator 10(Capture)-great..and the Import TOOL for Windows/recognized as a AVCompliant Device.

Excellent Firewire connectivity/has analog IN/OUT

Finding software for XP Computers/had to use a DELL Computer w/XP Home Edition and DELL Picture Studio(VideoWAVE)software..with a Atlantis Video Card

works great for me with Leopard and Final Cut... Component INs work great too and are very clear

Poor explanation of dipswitch combinations in manual. Make sure you lock the audio to 48khz 16bit or it will go out of sync (all switches down)

ADS Tech not good with QA.

1st when I opened the box all the plastic bags were already torn open and was missing the 6 pin FireWire cable (had one on hand tho) & the Quick Start guide. After trying to capture video without success I started to dig a little deeper. Win 7 and XP...

the power light works and the others flash. Has FireWire connections

Couldn't get it to work after 5 hours on two different computers with XP and Windows 7 RC (fresh install) even after correcting for the mislabeled model number and hardware dip switch settings

I like it..if your having quality problems from your Television COPY-I seem to have found that there is a security device running these days..that makes the VIDEO-skip when CAPTURED to a HDD..even on the VCR-tape..and SAVING to your PC(Vid-skips)..but...

It works if you have a COMPATIBLE Capture CARD installed..all the Connections are sending Vid/Audio to the PC..the Stand-alone even acknowledges weither your useing a Analog or a Digital Device to RECORD-from..the FILES are Perfect for EDITING..//I...

Its very lightweight..I think the REAR-FRONT Panel is configured poorly..my cables are a mess..it should have SIDE-connectors

It works/nice design..I use it with a Version of DELL Movie Studio PLUS-VideoWave Movie Creator/it replaced a INPUT/OUTPUT Cable that came with that Application--sound quality-is superb

Its very light-weight/I actually tape it to my Printer when I'm useing it..its also kinda' backwards/this Component has a great looking FRONT Panel and when I'm useing it--the FACE is towards my equipment--while my PC is looking at its REAR...
