The Pico 4 boasts better specifications and a lower price point than the Quest 2, but how does it fair in real-world use?
Comfortable fit ; Excellent visuals ; Solid performance ; Works well with PC VR ; Great value
Software is less refined than the competition ; Some key titles are missing from the library ; No 3.5mm headphone jack
The Pico 4 is an excellent VR headset that beats out the market leader in all areas but one - the software. If you have access to a gaming PC we think this is one of the best VR purchases you can make, If you'll be using the headset standalone, you may...

This standalone headset takes aim at the Meta Quest 2 with slimline optics. Does the Pico 4 have what it takes?
High quality optics ; Accurate head and controller tracking ; Undercuts its closest rival
Pico store missing some VR big hitters ; Battery life could be better ; Availability restricted to certain regions
A sensibly-priced standalone VR headset that impresses on the hardware front. There’s a decent selection of games, too – as long as you don’t mind missing out on big-name Meta exclusives.

The Pico 4 boasts more advanced hardware and a cheaper price tag than Meta's popular Quest 2 VR headset - it just lacks some big-name VR games for now.
Slim, compact design ; Next-gen pancake optics and boosted resolution ; Solid VR gaming experience ; More affordable than the Quest 2
No hand tracking ; Limited game library
The Pico 4 could be a true competitor to the Quest 2 with more advanced hardware and a cheaper entry-level price tag, though it’s lacking some of the big VR titles that make Meta’s VR headset shine.

Looking for a VR headset that's easy to setup and use as a standalone and for PC? Check out our PICO 4 review and see if this is the one for you.
+ Easy to setup ; + Wireless freedom for VR ; + Works on its own and as a PC VR headset ; + Light and comfortable to use for as long as the battery lasts ; + Great high resolution display with up to 90Hz refresh rate ; + Interactions work smoothly with...
- Needs more apps / games on PICO OS to be a more viable standalone VR solution ; - No headphone jack, can only connect to headphones via Bluetooth ; - Speaker and microphone driver conflict on PC causes confusing audio issues ; - You need 4 AA...
In essence, PICO 4 isn't exactly revolutionary as it does something that its rivals can do pretty much the same. The key point here is making VR more accessible than ever in a package that's versatile and easy to use.
