The Meta Quest 3 is an easy choice for VR fans, improving the experience in practically every way while introducing colour AR capabilities.
Lightweight, compact design ; Impressive VR and MR experience ; Top-end performance ; Biggest library of apps of any standalone headset
More expensive ; Battery life could be better ; Odd warping in passthrough mode
The Meta Quest 3 is an easy choice if you’re already a fan of the Quest VR headset, improving the experience in practically every way, from design to optics to performance, while simultaneously introducing fans to the world of AR. However, the...

A major upgrade over the Quest 2 that's worth the extra money
Sharp, clear visuals and audio ; Passthrough works well ; A growing number of apps and games
Not enough mixed reality content... yet(?) ; Controls can sometimes be confusing ; Price has jumped up from the Quest 2
Whether you're upgrading from the Quest 2 or not, the Quest 3 brings superior virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) for a just-about-affordable price. We just hope the library of apps and games continues to grow and develop as the MR/VR hardware...

The Meta Quest 3 is the only VR headset you need
Vastly better graphics than Quest 2 ; Improved mixed reality ; Incredible suite of software
Pricier than the Quest 2 at launch ; No eye-tracking ; The design is good, but not yet perfect
If you're in the market for a VR headset you need to buy the Meta Quest 3. At this price its VR and MR performance can't be beaten, and the Quest Store's VR software catalog is superb.

Meta has upgraded its popular Quest headset in just about every conceivable way.
Upgraded processor and better graphics ; Awesome MR experiences ; Impressive optics and displays ; Much better speakers ; Slimmed down headset and controllers
Pass-through quality suffers in low-light ; Default headstrap is a little basic
More than just a healthy hardware upgrade, the Quest 3 has the potential to bring a world of exciting MR gameplay to a wide audience. If you're looking to get into AR, VR or MR, the Quest 3 is hands down the best standalone option in 2023.

Meta Quest 3 review: In the Quest 3, Meta has promised that pretty much every nut and bold has been upgraded. But is that the case?
Best graphics from a Meta Quest yet ; Smooth setup ; Improved load times and hands-free control
Jack of all trades, master of few ; Not enough mixed reality apps ; Quickly causes fatigue
A fantastic headset but with few reasons to exist, the Meta Quest 3 is impressive, yet unnecessary upgrade

Transform your own home into a mixed-reality playground.
Sleeker, lighter headset ; Ergonomic new controllers ; Color passthrough ; Automatic play-area mapping ; Backwards compatibility
The Meta Quest 3 is a lighter, sleeker version of its predecessor with a new color passthrough feature that lets you enjoy more mixed-reality experiences, but the battery life could be better.

Meta's Quest 3 costs $200 more than the Quest 2. How much have performance, graphics, mixed-reality, and comfort improved and is it worth the price?
Doubles Quest 2 GPU performance Crisper graphics with 30% more pixels Sharp, clear lenses without god rays Mixed reality is good enough to use a phone Depth sensor automatically maps your room Ringless controllers are less breakable Great price for a...
Battery is still in front, adding face pressure Passthrough cameras are good, not great No silicone cover included
“If you’ve been sitting on the VR sidelines, the near-perfect Meta Quest 3 is the headset you’ve been waiting for.”
Expert review by : Will Greenwald (pcmag.com)
The Meta Quest 3 is the gold standard for standalone VR headsets thanks to its swift processor, high resolution, and color pass-through cameras that enable high-quality augmented reality.

Adding mixed reality to virtual reality makes for a dramatically improved headset, but Meta's virtual worlds are still ghost towns.
Dramatically improved object detection and hand tracking. Enhanced visuals with greater FOV. Full color, higher resolution pass-through is a dramatic improvement …
… but pass-through is still noticeably fuzzy. OS and UI remain stubbornly dated (you still can't organize apps!). Much higher price points than Quest 2. Horizon Worlds is a ghost town.
