HTC Vive Cosmos VR Headset Review: Solid Upgrade

The HTC Vive Cosmos is a great VR headset held back by bad controller ergonomics. It's comfort and lack of base stations makes it a good upgrade from the Vive.

Excellent displays ; Strong build quality ; Flip visor ; No external base stations ; Upgradeable

Expensive ; Limited day-one software support ; Controller ergonomics need improvement ; Controllers' AA batteries don't last long

The HTC Vive Cosmos is a great VR headset, but it's held back by poor controller ergonomics. Still, with a comfortable fit and the elimination of base stations, it's a solid replacement for the original HTC Vive.

HTC Vive Cosmos review: Too late, too expensive

No need to install sensors ; Bright and sharp screens ; Motion tracking works well

Far more expensive than Oculus headsets ; Motion controllers feel dated ; Headphones don’t reach your ears

HTC Vive Cosmos review

Poor tracking and comfort returns the Vive Cosmos' galactic specs back to Earth

Sharp, smooth display ; Strong audio ; Solid button placements on controller ; Wide selection of games and apps ; Viveport app is on point

Subpar tracking ; Uncomfortable design ; Expensive ; Controllers are a little bulky ; No social features

The HTC Vive Cosmos has a great pair of lenses and headphones, but the tracking and comfort leave much to be desired.
