The HP Windows Mixed Reality Headset works the same as models from Acer and others, but has more padding and a bigger cutout for your nose.

Replaceable tether cable ; Easy setup ; Fits a wide range of head sizes
Narrow field of view ; Flimsy controllers ; Tether cable too short ; No IPD adjustment ; Non-replaceable cushions
The HP Windows Mixed Reality headset offers a handful of excellent features, but its value is marred by a handful of poor design choices, and the $449 asking price makes it hard to recommend. At $250 and below it's a compelling purchase, but don’t pay...

HP's VR1000-100 feels and functions just like other Windows Mixed Reality headsets, and has to deal with the same awkward quirks and dearth of content the platform offers.
Comfortable design. High-resolution picture. Includes motion controllers.
LCDs not up to par with OLED screens on other VR headsets. Windows Mixed Reality lacks features and software.
Bottom Line: HP's VR1000-100 feels and functions just like other Windows Mixed Reality headsets, and has to deal with the same awkward quirks and dearth of content the platform offers.

I'm still not sold on Microsoft's Mixed Reality headsets. For one, they don't actually do mixed reality — there's no virtual content imposed on the real world to be found here — and it's misleading to suggest otherwise.
Attractive design with smartly placed ports ; Swappable cords ; Compatible with a number of systems
Apps and games are lacking ; Noticeable visual differences depending on connected system ; A bit heavy
The HP Windows Mixed Reality Headset VR1000-100 offers a portable, plug-and-play virtual reality option that can work with integrated and discrete graphics.

Poor from John Lewis to do a bundle deal where the products are not compatible, the instructions from HP are awful and the plug and play doesn't work at all, complete disaster from cradle to grave DO NOT BUY

As this was FREE, bundled in with my dell laptop, i have to say this headset is awesome.. ive also got the PSVR however the HP headset offers a better experience in my opinion. The range of games is broader with Steam, i would like to see this rolling...

All I can compare this too is a PSVR, whilst it is sharper and far less hassle to set up, it is not quite as comfortable or maybe that's just the shape of my head :). WMR on steam is also a bit of a hassle at the moment but you should get through it if...
Consumer review (very.co.uk)
Was blown away by this headset and controllers. It is accurate, clear and works great with Steam and Windows. I have played Star Trek Bridge crew, Elite Dangerous and Space Pirates, all work flawlessly with these. They have a slightly higher resolution...
Consumer review (very.co.uk)
This is a comfortable headset, it took a while to set up on the PC but worth the effort. Only problem is that the foam around the goggle area is already coming unstuck after two wears (something the manufacturer needs to know about). The controllers...
Consumer review (very.co.uk)
After having used both Vive and Oculus, this is so far my favourite headset. Sure, It still needs some work, but in general, it's great. Especially for seated experience. Big plus to Steam for making sure there's a bunch of games compatible with it.
