The Powerbot VR9000 is Samsung's latest flagship robot vacuum cleaner boasting a host of sensors to navigate your room and avoid obstacles, a wide drum brush promising comprehensive cleaning and CycloneForce, which Samsung claims delivers up to 60...
Decent navigation ; Good on hard floors ; Gentle on furniture ; Remote control gives manual control
Struggled with small steps ; Poor carpet cleaning ; Doesn’t get close to edges ; Tangles with cables ; Expensive
A decent robot vacuum cleaner, but not good enough that we’d recommend you buy one.

We first spotted the Samsung PowerBot VR9000 robot vacuum last year in Berlin, at the IFA consumer electronics and home appliances trade show . At the time, it was pitched as a high-end addition to Samsung's Asian and European lineups (it costs £700 at...
Though it didn't beat them outright, the PowerBot VR9000 kept up with Neato and Roomba in our tests, and it bests them both with its slate of unique features, including a killer point-cleaning feature.
The PowerBot lacks a side-sweeping brush to help it clean along walls, and it wasn't quite as sharp a navigator as Neato.
Top-of-the-line models from Roomba and Neato each clean better than the PowerBot while costing hundreds less. We're sticking with those.

The Samsung Powerbot VR9000 claims to map your house and calculate the optimum cleaning path before returning to its base for recharging. We sent this robot vacuum cleaner off to our lab to see how well it actually does navigate, and of course how well...

Which do you prefer: Having spotless floors or having a robot vacuum for you? Because you can't have both.
The POWERbot is powerful, easy to use, and has some neat features. It’s good on both carpet and bare floors, picking up a good amount of debris and pet hair. It’s rugged enough to roll right over minor obstacles but gentle enough not to bang the hell...

It's big, it's powerful, and it's got some cool tricks up its sleeve -- can it topple our top cleaners?

Best for a large empty spaces, it falters a little if there is lots of furniture or clutter
Great at carpet cleaning, fast
Expensive, struggles to dock, large
The Samsung does an excellent job of cleaning, but does make sacrifices in other ways. We found that the robot would have difficulty docking, and could be very frustrating to manually place on the charging base. If you are looking at purchasing this,...

TechSpective conducts a comprehensive review of the Samsung PowerBot VR9000 robot vacuum.
The Samsung PowerBot VR9000 is one of the best vacuums TechSpective has tested and it includes unique features and benefits that set it apart from competitors. The high price may make many customers think twice, though.

Like a fancy touchscreen watch that reminds you to buy milk, a robot vacuum is a luxury few of us actually need—but many of us would love to have.

Like a fancy touchscreen watch that reminds you to buy milk, a robot vacuum is a luxury few of us actually need-but many of us would love to have. For years
Do you already own a vacuum? If the answer is no, then you're probably better off spending half the POWERbot VR9000's price tag on a nice Dyson or something because you'll still need to have an old-school vacuum on hand. But if the answer is yes, and...
