I thought with a name like Dirt Devil I would get a superior product but I was wrong. Even though the motor SOUNDS strong, it just doesn't have the pick-up it advertises. The body of the vaccum is all plastic, it has a see-through plastic container ...

Unfortunate Choice

The Dirt Devil RoomMate has limited performance, limited durability, and unlimited noise.

For reference, this vacuum was used in a two room apartment with only tile and Berber carpet and no pets except fish, which usually don't affect vacuum cleaner performance.

Relatively inexpensive, easy to clean

Not enough power for most carpets, limited usefulness on hard floors, poor durability

Glorified Dustbuster

I guess this would be a good but for a small apartment or dorm room, but don't expect to have it for years to come. I've had mine for about 3 years now and it for some reason burns through the vacuum belt everytime now, and there is no way to trouble...

This one didn't last long

I purchased a dirt devil roommate when I moved into my apartment-style one bedroom dorm, thinking it would be perfect for the small task of vacuuming 200-odd square feet every so often. I do not have pets, and my carpet is not thick at all....
