The $179.99 Hoover Linx is an uncomplicated cordless stick vacuum. While it can't compete with the $499.99 Dyson DC59's intriguing design and variety of brush attachments, it offers something even better: exceptional performance. Since it also costs...
The $179.99 Hoover Platinum Collection Linx cordless stick vacuum impressed us with its strong performance. Even Dyson's $499.99 DC59 fell short in comparison.
This model doesn't come with brush attachments or any other special features -- it's just a stick vacuum. It also doesn’t have as much character as Dyson's colorful DC59.
The Hoover Linx isn't fancy, but it will clean your floors better than most of the other stick models we tested. Combine that with its reasonable price and you have one of our favorite vacuums to date.

The Hoover Platinum Collection Linx Cordless Stick Vacuum is sometimes referred to as the Platinum Collection Cordless Stick Vac or sometimes simply the BH50010 (which is the model number). It is a cordless and bagless stick vacuum cleaner and is the...

I can only assume that the cnet writer of this review was given a kickback from Hoover to rate it as better than the Dyson, this thing has been an absolute nightmare to clean with on my polished concrete floors (although admittedly it performs well on...
Price, battery life, performance on carpet
Performance on hardfloors, lack of versatility
Consumer review (cnet.com)
This vacuum is so strong I can have trouble with it lifting small area rugs up when I vacuum them. The battery gave out after 20 months and Hoover replaced it. The vacuum has given me no trouble and i use it for about one half an hour to 45 minutes at...
light weight, powerful vacuum, easy to use and clean after use
nothing

I shopped extensively to find this vacuum. Dyson did not get dirt off my hardwood floors. The Lynx performed far better & for 1/3 less cost. Love it!
Powerful suction. Easy mobility. Easy charging. Easy cleaning. Easy storage.
No negative comment on this terrific producr.

I have always bought Hoover vacuums because of their quality products. We have had a self-propelled Wind Tunnel upright for years and it is an amazing product. It doesn't lose suction like most bagless models. We also wanted battery operated stick...
Powerful, long battery life, fast charge, can buy addt'l batteries
Would like extra tools

The vacuum cleaner does a great job when using the short life battery. It does not have an convenient handheld attachment like others. The batter life is real short, really. The battery only lasts 12 to 15 minutes, than you have to recharge the battery....
great suction
short battery life
Consumer review (cnet.com)
We wanted a small cordless vacuum to use for small jobs, in between the major central vac job done by our professional housekeeper. We were pleasantly surprised by how well it worked. It works equally well on hardwood and carpets, even deep pile area...
It picked up everything we asked it to, including abundent dog hair.
Maybe a little more battery life so I can vacuum the whole 3 BR house in one session.

This was almost a steal! I bought another battery for it and I can clean my whole apt! I hope that hoover keeps making these better and better, I tried the Electrolux stick vacuums and they couldn't hold up to this one and you cant switch batteries to...
Great little vacuum! Has lots of power and no bag, love the wind tunnel, and its easy to dump the collection bin!
Short battery life, The connection tube from the brush to the wind tunnel container needs to be periodically (once a year) cleared and cleaned. I have a cat and somehow his hairs get caught in the crevices of where the 2 halves of that chute fit...
