The $179.99 Hoover Platinum Collection Linx cordless stick vacuum impressed us with its strong performance. Even Dyson's $499.99 DC59 fell short in comparison.
This model doesn't come with brush attachments or any other special features -- it's just a stick vacuum. It also doesn’t have as much character as Dyson's colorful DC59.
The Hoover Linx isn't fancy, but it will clean your floors better than most of the other stick models we tested. Combine that with its reasonable price and you have one of our favorite vacuums to date.

Excellent. FAR superior to Dyson which I tried for 30 days.
I shopped extensively to find this vacuum. Dyson did not get dirt off my hardwood floors. The Lynx performed far better & for 1/3 less cost. Love it!

The vacuum cleaner does a great job when using the short life battery. It does not have an convenient handheld attachment like others.The batter life is real short, really. The battery only lasts 12 to 15 minutes, than you have to recharge the battery....

Shockingly outstanding performance, equal to any vacuum we have owned.
We wanted a small cordless vacuum to use for small jobs, in between the major central vac job done by our professional housekeeper. We were pleasantly surprised by how well it worked. It works equally well on hardwood and carpets, even deep pile area...
It picked up everything we asked it to, including abundent dog hair.
Maybe a little more battery life so I can vacuum the whole 3 BR house in one session.

Great little vacuum! Has lots of power and no bag, love the wind tunnel, and its easy to dump the collection bin!
