Toshiba Regza 55WL768

Toshiba's first 3D TV has us feeling confused and staring at light blotches when we should be watching people snogging...

Bright, colourful pictures can look great ; Its build quality is exceptional ; 3D pictures look brighter and more colourful than most

Signs of crosstalk with 3D ; Multimedia features are confusing and feel incomplete ; Severe backlight inconsistency

front, the 55WL768’s online offering isn’t nearly substantial enough for such an ostensibly premium TV.

Toshiba 40WL768 review

Toshiba's first stab at the 3D television market is a worthy LCD set, that not only totes Freesat, but offers a great spec and lovely images

Lovely looks ; spec includes satellite tuner, Freeview HD and 3D ; very clean and vibrant pictures from all sources

Weak sound ; imperfections in the backlight and motion processing

This is the best Toshiba set we’ve seen in ages

Toshiba 55WL768 review

Elegant LCD giant with Wi-Fi but poor 3D playback

Superb 2D HD images ; Nice design ; Wi-Fi access to iPlayer and YouTube ; Freeview EPG better than many

Poor 3D performance ; MPEG noise problems ; Some networking issues ; Clunky remote control

Designing a 55-inch TV to look imposing but not overbearing is no mean feat. The mammoth, yet elegant 55WL768 is the result of Toshiba's collaboration with leading European design agency, Jacob Jensen Design studio, an outfit credited with the...

Tosh injects some Jensen good looksThe brand pulled out all the stops to make this 55-incher a great HD TV, says Steve May. And then it added 3D...

Excellent HD performance; striking Jacob Jensen design

Crosstalk makes 3D an uncomfortable experience; uneven Edge LED backlight

Toshiba WX800/WL768

Toshiba unveiled new TVs with slim Jacob Jensen design, picture quality improvements and 3D back in September. These TVs are now available on the market and here we look at the high-end WX800 (in US) / WL768 (in EU).

Picture quality; 3D picture quality; Response time; Inputs pointing down and to the side; Color gradation

Clouding; Speakers; No Smart TV features; Reflections in front glass; Out-of-box settings

Toshiba has integrated the most basic functionality and unfortunately Smart TV features are nowhere to be found. Access to YouTube is nice but it’s just not enough compared to the competition. DLNA functionality is also limited. On the other hand the...
