Olevia 232V LCD TV Review

If you are like me, deciding how to use your limited AV budget is a constant battle. On the one hand you've got your home theater and you want the absolute best gear you can afford in that room. However, if, like me, you also have a wife and kids,...

Excellent quality/cost ratio ; Good color saturation

Limited video input options ; limited user controls for calibration ; Crushes whites ; No source-specific buttons on remote

Olevia 232V Review - 32-inch LCD HDTV

is a very reasonably priced flat panel at under $550. It features 720p resolution which isn't top of the line but for a TV of this size, it's very sufficient. This HDTV features an all black matte finish bezel, uncharacteristic of the very trendy...

Very nice for a great price!

Although it isn't THE best in the 32" range (Samsung is the winner, in my opinion), it's still a VERY good choice because of it's price-to-size.

I got this HDTV as a graduation present from my mom. I did tell her to get this specific TV, as I did research myself and found Olevia's 32" line to be some of the best in the 32" range. The picture is excellent, it's nice, crisp, sharp, and the TV...

The speakers that come with the TV are subpar. I couldn't stand them, so I hooked up my stereo speakers. Let this be known, if you are planning to buy this TV, make sure you have some aftermarket sound systems to go with it! Also, I do have one stuck...

Great TV

I don't know why people complain about the menu system. It's not hard at all. I figured it out with no remote and no manual. I also got a cheap universal remote which works just fine for this TV and the rest of my AV components.

Awesome picture, vibrant colors. I get good blacks and whites, minimal blurring, SD content looks just fine and HD content looks even better ; Overall, it's worth a lot more than the price. It has a better picture than TV's that can cost $100+ more

The unit I received did not come with a remote control or manual. The box was completely sealed, so I called Olevia and they sent me the missing items in the mail. Annoying, but not the end of the world

Great for the price...

Simply the best price I have found for a 720p HDTV this size. Well worth it.

First off the TV is unbeatable for this price. The picture is decent, my PS3 looks great with the HDMI cable. Unfortunately I don't have HDTV programming yet so I am unable to grade it on that, but DVDs and Blue Ray look stunning on it

Like other customers have stated, the menu system is extremely slow to react. This occurs when changing channels our input sources. It's a bit annoying, but a small price to pay for the cost of the product. One other tiny annoyance is the blue LED on...

Overall, a solid TV

I've owned this television for close to one month now. I wasn't necessarily ready to lay down some heavy dough on a high-end HDTV, especially because once I save more money, I can always be assured greater advances in technology (for TV's and...

The picture is excellent; the color needed no adjustment out of the box. My family owns a 42" Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV and I found the standard-def video on this Olevia tv looked better! The HD quality is fantastic, looks better than a Sharp Aquos in my...

The greatest problem this TV had for me (and it caused a huge headache) was the fact that the guide instructed me to install a firmware update as soon as I had the TV. So I did this. Much to my horrible dismay, this firmware update essentially KILLed...

Economical LCD

Despite my complaints, I'm reasonably satisfied with my purchase. There are just several "small" issues i have with it. If your remote works better than my harmony did (it WAS a refurb remote) or don't mind juggling 2 remotes, then it's a good TV. If...

Inexpensive, easily navigable menus. variety of inputs. I've been pretty happy with it in light of the fact that it was a 32" in my budget

blue LED indicates 'standby' state and it lights up the room when the TV is turned off. There is a menu setting to turn this off, but it continually resets itself and must be re-selected. The remote is non-universal, i.e. you cannot program it to work...

Great purchase... Great TV!

Considering my Comcast Cable provider doesn't have any HDMI boxes to offer it's customers, I've hooked my HD receiver into the Component source, and it looks great. I guess I will save the HDMI slot for a PS3.

No dead pixels (was my 1st and really only concern buying refurbished.) Clear picture, 1080i. This is my 1st HDTV and I'm impressed, the price was great, and Newegg delivered within approximately 2-3 days (warehouse is only a few miles away). Sports...

Comcast Digital Cable giving me broken receivers and not much of an HD selection? Hmmm, wait that's not Newegg's fault though

Excellent HD TV

Price was great. TV looks good. HD channels work well. HDMI connectivity

Blue light when unit is off. Channel changing slightly delayed. Remote sensor gets poor reception

nice LCD TV

Good LCD TV for the price. Plenty of video connections for all your electronic equipment.

Easy to set up, good setup instructions on CD for different types of video equipment and surround sound systems. Bought an articulating wall mount and installed it in the upper corner of the living room. It looks great either on cable or laptop through...

The only con we have is that when you change the TV channel there is a 2-3 second delay before you see the next station
