Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750 Review

While we wouldn't go out of our way to recommend this TV, we wouldn't stand in anyone's way of purchasing one, either.

After falling in love with Sony’s NX720 in 2011, we wound up generally disappointed with the HX750 – it just doesn’t hold up. If we stop making that comparison, however, what we end up with is a handsome TV with a very solid picture, a wide range of...

Sony KDL-55HX750

What a difference a digit makes. When I reviewed Sony's high-end KDL-HX850 series earlier this year, it earned great marks for style, overall picture quality, and energy efficiency. Sony's LED-backlit HX750 series is a different story altogether. It...

Accurate colors. Good 2D viewing angles

Unimpressive black levels. Plenty of off-angle crosstalk in 3D. Glasses not included

Sony's HX750 series of LED HDTVs deliver good color fidelity and come with plenty of Web apps, but you can do better for the price.

Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750

Sony's Bravia HX750 series of LED HDTVs deliver good color fidelity and come with plenty of Web apps, but you can do better for the price.

Accurate colors. Good 2D viewing angles.

Unimpressive black levels. Plenty of off-angle crosstalk in 3D. Glasses not included.

Conclusion The Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750 is a capable 55-inch HDTV with a generous feature set. You'll get a sharp 2D picture from this set no matter where you're seated, but you'll need to be front and center to enjoy error-free 3D video. The panel's...

Sony KDL-HX750 review: Sony KDL-HX750

Sony KDL-HX750

The ; offers excellent color accuracy for an LCD and will give a decent picture without too much calibration. The feature count is one of the highest of any Sony TV this year. Styling is subdued but elegant, and it's not all about looks, because it's...

The overall picture quality is hampered by light black levels. No 3D glasses are included, which is disappointing for a high-level TV. Compared with the stiff competition, this Sony is too expensive for what you get.

The Sony HX750 series isn't the headliner that you'd expect it to be with a performance that isn't up to the level of the asking price.

Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750

The Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750 is a conservatively styled and conservatively designed TV that does a good job generally, but is not the best for 3D.

Very good 2D picture. Good network content. Good table/phone control feature.

Too much ghosting in 3D.

The Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750 is a conservatively styled, conservatively designed TV that does a good job generally, but is not the best for 3D.

Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750

During a CES show in which TV manufacturers were trying to outdo each other for internet and streaming supremacy, the Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750 was geared toward winning customers over with its picture quality and thin design. Compared to the innovation...

Don’t look for major improvements from the Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750 compared to last year’s Sony Bravia lineup. It features the not-so-new, single-chip X-Reality engine and Motionflow XR 480 and edge LED back-lit 1080p display. These aren’t necessarily...

Sony KDL-55HX750 LED/LCD HDTV Reviewed

Adrienne Maxwell's review of the Sony KDL-55HX750 LED/LCD HDTV revealed a television that offers a very favorable trait: consistent performance. But that is not the end of the story on this HDTV.

Never underestimate the value of consistency when it comes to TV performance, and that's exactly what the Sony KDL-55HX750 offers--consistently solid performance for both dark and bright viewing environments. Sure, its black level could be better, but...

The Sony KDL-55HX750 It isn't nearly as sleek looking as its more expensive sibling, it uses more power, and its black levels and 3D performance fall short. On the plus side, this 55-inch LED-backlit model comes at a much lower price, and still...

Sony KDL55HX750 3D LED TV

The 55HX750 series from Sony actually uses a matte-type screen finish rather than the Gorilla Glass Opticontrast panel on the HX850 and XBR929. The semi-matte screen does a decent job of presenting a good picture...

Still too much blue push but definitely a saturated picture and OK for bright rooms if you turn off the other settings which interfere with picture quality (see Picture Settings)
