Sony Bravia KDL46EX1 LCD television

A thin Sony television with a great picture frame design and wireless media streaming

Media streamer hides cable clutter, picture frame design is stylish in any environment

No 1080p or 24p streaming, picture quality inferior to other (uglier) TVs

The Sony Bravia KDL46EX1 is a thin, well-designed Full HD LCD television with average image quality and a good wireless media streaming system. It may not be as competent as other models in its price range, but you’re paying for some high-class style...

Sony Bravia KDL46EX1

The Sony Bravia KDL46EX1 is a gorgeous looking unit that shows the tremendous promise of wireless HD technology. But we'd hold off on investing till it matures a little.

Stylish ; Wireless system is simple and robust ; Good contrast and natural colours ; Detailed images

No 24p support ; No 1080p transmission ; Some smearing and jaggy problems

Despite being really cool, we're not really convinced of wireless benefits yet — especially when the screen needs to downscale to transmit material across the airwaves. Newer versions of the technology, such as in the upcoming Panasonic Z1, will...

Sony KDL-46EX1

Sleek, good looking style and easy to place anywhere in the house.

Not so practical with the media box out of order infact pretty much useless without it, with no independent features or functions if the receiver media box develops an anomaly, cannot even change volume or connect an aerial lead.

Wireless is such a superb feature. Neat and tidy and great to look at with the white border. Shame all screens now have black frames as they impose i a small room, whereas this one blends in much better

Keeps losing wireless connection and remote keeps needing to be reset (battery out)

Looks lovely. Wireless link from monitor to control box means less clutter of wires

Wireless link cannot support 24fps picture - this can only be done with an HDMI wire direct from BluRay player to monitor
