Sharp Aquos LC-52LE640U

Sharp's Aquos LE640U line is full of big HDTVs with gorgeous pictures, but their interface isn't as polished as other screens.

Crisp, bright picture. Dark black levels.

Unattractive interface and remote.

The Sharp Aquos LC-60LE640U offers an excellent picture on a big screen at an affordable price, but a less-than-stellar menu system and so-so power consumption is part of the bargain. If you don't mind trading a higher price and a smaller screen for 3D...

Sharp LC-LE640U review: Sharp LC-LE640U

Sharp LC-LE640U

The relatively inexpensive ; delivers accurate color thanks to ample picture controls, as well as a matte screen that works well in bright rooms. Its feature set hits all of the right notes for the price, including excellent help and support options,...

I noted somewhat lighter black levels and uneven lighting across the screen, both especially obvious in dark scenes under home theater lighting. The Sharp also failed to properly handle film-based (1080p/24) sources, causing slight stutter in certain...

With good picture quality and great pricing, the Sharp LC-LE640U series makes a strong case for mainstream TV shoppers who want to go bigger.

Sharp LC-LE640U review

If you ask Sharp ( or me ), one of the best reasons to buy a new HDTV, especially if you have one already, is to go big. After introducing massive 70- and 80-inch LCDs last year at prices that in context actually deserve the word "affordable," the...

Sharp LC-70LE640U Review – 70-inch LED LCD HDTV

The model is one of the inexpensive 70-inch LED TV sets available in the market. It lacks active or passive 3D technology compatibility. But the manufacturer has launched the device with 1080p HD resolution and a set of advanced networking and internet...

Sharp has further designed the model with a set of advanced online features including built in Wi-Fi and Smart Central TV internet suite integration. The features allow users to browse though their favorite websites on the TV screen without using any...

Sharp LC-70LE640U LED LCD HDTV Reviewed

If one 70-inch LED HDTV wasn't enough for you, don't worry. Sharp has another one in the LC-70LE732U, and this new model picks up right where the last one left off, adding refined features.

The LC-70LE640U has a 70-inch screen and a 1080p resolution ; The edge-lit LED design allows for a slim cabinet and good energy efficiency (it is EnergyStar-certified) ; 120Hz technology is available to reduce motion blur and film judder ; LCDs can be...

This set lacks 3D capability ; Edge-lit LED-based LCD TVs can suffer from brightness-uniformity issues, and this TV lacks local dimming to improve black level and uniformity ; LCD viewing angles are not as good you'll find with a plasma TV ; Despite...

Last year, Sharp earned our "Best LCD-LED HDTV" award for its 70-inch LC-70LE732U, primarily for its game-changing size/price combination. The new LC-70LE640U basically picks up where that model left off, with an MSRP of $3,299 and a street price...

Not perfect but a good deal for the money.

I picked up one of these at Target last week. Setting it up was a snap, the HDMI ARC works great with my Denon 1913 receiver, so I only need the one cable to send sound through my HT speakers. Picture quality out of the box was impressive in Standard...

Picture quality, connectivity options

Backlight uniformity, wi-fi range

Best bang for your buck hands down...

Purchased my LC-60LE640U about a month ago and I am still very pleased with the product. I viewed this model at BestBuy, the floor model was being featured directly next to a Samsung 60' LED model and I clearly saw the immediate difference between the...

Exceptional visual clarity with most HD movies/shows/programs

Occasional interims of motion blur

Great TV, crisp picture on FIOS and Blue Ray

Bottom line, this is fantastic LED so far. I bought the 60 inch model from Best Buy on 2/24 as a replacment for an old TV in our family room. This is our first Sharp - I own 2 Samsung LCDs (32 and 52 inch) and was nervous going with a different brand....

Picture quality, all the HDMI & audio/video connections you will ever need, menu's and navigation are pretty good.

None yet - I will update this review if I find something wrong.

"Good tv for the price, big but not so bright"

Overall we got this for an oscar party and for the price $2500 at costco it is a really good deal for the size. The setup and cable layouts are pretty standard - no svideo but 4hdmi and 2 usb ports. We like it but it takes some getting used to. We have...

A large tv to fit a large room, it has a pretty good picture and does not dim the lights when you turn it on. The picture is so big you feel like you are handling the camera. Some of the controls are a bit confusing but setup took about 20 minutes.

Still cannot program with my dvr, not sure of the difference with the le733 model series. Picture is good from the front but washed out from angles of about 50degrees to 0. Not bright as I would like it, with ps3 it is rather dark.
