Panasonic Viera TH-P65VT20A

The Panasonic Viera TH-P65VT20A plasma offers up an impressive home cinema experience whether you're watching in two dimensions or three.

Deep, deep blacks ; True-to-life colours ; Excellent noise performance ; Access to YouTube and more ; Impressive size

Slight cross-hatching effect ; Prone to jaggies ; No swivel mount ; Costly

It may not be the prettiest flower in the bunch, and has its quirks, but the Panasonic VT20 is an impressive television. To those who buy it: you better stock up on beers, you're going to suddenly make a lot of new friends.

Panasonic Viera TH-P50VT20A

The Panasonic Viera TH-P50VT20A is an excellent TV with tech-smarts not available elsewhere, and will probably be seen in years to come as the "pinnacle" of plasma design.

Deep black levels ; Incredibly natural pictures ; First plasma that still looks good in a lit room ; Excellent feature set ; Subtle design ; Well-priced ; Green

Occasional video problems ; 3D implementation not the best ; 3D glasses are expensive ; IPTV offering not very comprehensive yet

The VT20 is an excellent television, and we predict it will be seen as one of the best TVs ever. It just happens that Sony's TV is that much better.

Panasonic Viera TH-P50VT20A 3D plasma television

Panasonic's TH-P50VT20A is a 50in 3D plasma television

Good 2D and 3D picture quality, useful Viera Cast Internet features

Less attractive than Samsung's Series 7

Panasonic's TH-P50VT20A 3D-ready plasma television is an excellent performer. It has exceptionally good contrast and detail levels, making it an easy choice if you want the absolute best image quality from your television.

Panasonic Viera TH-P50VT20a 3D plasma TV (preview)

Panasonic's flag-ship plasma television has a massive contrast ratio and can display 3D images

3D adds new depth to many genres (if you'll pardon the pun)

Panasonic's 3D glasses won't be cheap

We're looking forward to the chance to spend some quality time with the Panasonic Viera TH-P50VT20a -- a 3D-capable plasma TV -- when we get it into our Test Centre. For now here are our impressions based on a demonstration staged by Panasonic.

Picture is amazing. AVI video playback from usb looks poor compared playing back the same video from the ps3. Also tv looks better from the ps3 play tv addon all because the ps3 upscales all video. Would be nice if manufacturers included a video...

Panasonic Viera TH-P50VT20A

3D: Only one set of 3D eyewear included with this TV and it's at least one set too few. Unless you are a nigle not mates, expect to be forking out another $199 for a second set of eyewear. In my case I need two more. 3D content is also hard to find. ...

Best Blacks, Great Picture, easy menus, sound is good, 3D Picture is excellent, the size of this Big TV is easy to watch

Media Server fiddly to setup and then it does not play AVI, QT, VOB and WMA files. MKV has been the only file I have it plays
