Panasonic TX-P42ST60

Can Panasonic still deliver plasma class at a cheaper price point?

Stunning black level response ; Good value ; Excellent Smart TV interface

Picture quality reduced by high levels of ambient light ; Surprisingly high input lag ; 3D motion judder

And whatever else you do, avoid the Dynamic preset and turn off the Ambient sensor if you know what’s good for you (though this advice applies to any Panasonic plasma set, actually).

Panasonic TX-P42ST60 review

There's life in the old plasma TV yet

Brilliantly cinematic picture quality ; Good value ; Friendly smart TV interface ; Wide viewing angle

Lacks video streaming services ; Design is rather lacklustre ; Only 3 HDMIs ; Doesn't like bright environments

Don't be put off by the lack of glamour exhibited by the P42ST60's exterior: inside beats a home cinema heart of gold.

Panasonic TX-P42ST60

The Panasonic TX-P42ST60's picture performance, design and sound quality make it a superb TV for the money. The only downside is its smart TV system.

Smart TV system could do with more premium apps; Not as suitable as some LED models for bright room viewing.

The Panasonic TX-P42ST60 is a superb TV for the money. Its picture performance puts many sets costing twice as much to shame thanks to its excellent colour handling and deep black levels. It also has decent sound quality, easy to use menus and a...

Panasonic TX-P42ST60 review

Panasonic's plasmas have been hugely impressive this year, with the ZT65 , VT65 and GT60 all delivering gorgeously-deep black levels, along with rich and natural colours that make movie watching a pleasure on these sets. The Panasonic TX-P42ST60 slips...
