Panasonic TX-P42ST30 review

As good as half price, it's no surprise that this set blows our socks off

Impressive all-round performance ; 3D is comfortable ; plenty of smart services including BBC iPlayer, Acetrax ; detailed, sharp pictures

Typically anaemic flatscreen sound

As good as half price, from its initial release it’s no surprise that this set blows our socks off

Panasonic TX-P42ST30B review

An ugly, yet affordable 3D plasma capable of delivering very impressive pictures

Effortlessly good 3D images ; Excellent 2D pics ; Viera Connect and multimedia capabilities ; Good build quality

Ugly design ; Lacks a couple of vital manual tweaks ; Horrible Freeview EPG ; Picture tweaks buried in menu system

The Infinite Black Pro-toting TX-P42ST30B is 2011's most affordable active 3D plasma screen. It has been shorn of one or two fancy features that Panasonic reckons the mass market won't feel deprived of, but is still crammed with the latest plasma...

Panasonic TX-P42ST30B review

The P42ST30B is the most affordable Panasonic plasma yet to offer viewing in the third dimension, and in terms of both spec and looks, it is the runt of the brand's 3D plasma range. Its appearance is somewhat unrefined with its grey-green screen,...

Solid picture performance; lack of artefacts with IFC; Viera Connect portal

Drab styling; Freeview EPG issues; 3D specs not supplied

Panasonic Viera TX-P42ST30B review

Panasonic's P42ST30 sits below the top of the range VT30 and mid-tier GT30 models in the company's current line-up of 3D plasma TVs, but above the recently announced UT30. It boasts many of the same features of the higher-end sets in the range, but...

Deep black levels; Warm, natural colours; Great 3D picture quality; Good line-up of Internet services.

No DLNA media streaming support; Some slight colour banding visible every now and again; 3D glasses are expensive.

It's disappointing that the Panasonic TX-P42ST30 lacks the media streaming features found on the company's higher-end sets, but it still manages to impress, with the deep black levels and perky colours helping its 2D and 3D pictures stand out from the...

Everything, apart from the speakers. But they are extremly slim,so it is no surprise the sound is much better through a sound system.

Brilliant picture quality on all inputs including sky & bluray Easy setup takes no more than 3-4 minutes Price, at this level you can't go wrong for a 42 inch panasaonic that recieves 5 stars from whathi-fi magazine.
