LG 42PC1D 42in Plasma TV

It seems that the prices of HDTVs just keep tumbling. This 42in plasma from LG is a bit of a bargain.

LG 42PC1D review

It's not new, but it's certainly cheap

Very cheap ; Good looks ; Rich colours

Images could be sharper

The 42PC1D may not be perfect, but it's better than you'd expect for this money

LG 50PC1D review

Is this flat TV as much of a bargain as it seems?

Cheap

Picture noise

If budget and size is everything, this set is just about worth considering

LG 42PC1DV review

V is so much more than just a letter

Good black levels ; Decent price

Far too much noise

It's cheap, but unfortunately its quality is just about as low as its price

LG 42PC1DV

Look up 'confusing' in the dictionary and you'll find the words LG 42PC1D and LG 42PC1DV side by side. For remarkably, while the names of these two TVs look practically identical, the extra V on this one hides a multitude of differences

Good black levels, Decent price

Far too much noise

It's cheap, but unfortunately its quality is just about as low as its price

LG 42PC1D

Great price, good connectivity, rich colours and good black levels

Tends to emphasise source noise, and HD pictures don't look as sharp as we'd like

LG 42PC1D

With LCD increasingly muscling in on the 42-inch patch traditionally occupied by plasma, it's nice to see LG's latest plasma fighting back. The slick-looking 42PC1D combines a low price of £1,500 with a more than healthy features list.

Low price, Great colours, Strong blacks, Good connectivity

Occasional MPEG noise, Could do with a touch more bass, Only 1,024x768

Not the best out there, but well worthy of consideration

LG 50PC1DRA

The LG 50PC1DRA is a mediocre high-def plasma TV that offers the convenience of a built-in HD DVR.

Integrated HD DVR. Good color accuracy and saturation.

Poor video processing. Unimpressive contrast ratio. HD recording restricted to cable and off-air sources.

turning on the 50pc1dra for the first time presents a brief guided-setup screen that includes menu-language selection and configuration options for the tv guide–based electronic programming guide (epg). this popular epg provides a familiar grid-style...

LG Electronics 42PC1DA

We're not going to lie to you: You could very nearly buy two identically sized bargain plasmas for the price of one LG 42PC1DA plasma HDTV. Its price of $3000 (as of 6/6/06) is nearly twice that of some 42-inchers we've seen in the PC World Test...

Great color quality and detail Four-paned adaptive picture mode

No DVI input

LG doesn't skimp on its speakers either--they offer rich sound. Even the remote control is well organized and easy to navigate. The manual spends a bit too much space outlining the integrated TV Guide system rather than explaining basic features, but...
