The very first toaster my husband and I ever had was a small 2 slice toaster that we received for a wedding gift. We used that toaster for about 12 years.
Big slots, dual controlled, Toasts 4 slices at once
It quits working properly in just a few short months

There are certain things I expect from a toaster. I expect the heating elements to turn red when the toaster is in use, providing a visual cue that it's working. I expect the toaster to let me find the right setting and retain that setting from that...
looks very elegant, doesn't smudge as much as most white appliances
toasts slowly and inconsistently, only toasts the surface, odd textures, poorly designed
Consumer review (shopping.com)
Good looking unit but is not good at doing what is should be doing, push down on the lever and take notice that one side is closer to the heating element than the other, hence one side is toasted more than the other, if one side is perfect chances are...
Good design
Toasting is uneven from one side to the other

I had one for about a month, being single I toasted approx. two loafs of bread, and one side quit working. For a family, probably wouldn't last a week. Don't waste your time and money buying this.
NONE
Quit working, and it has it's own mind when to pop up

I guess I was spoiled by my previous toaster that I received as a gift 20 years ago. I used that toaster everyday for the entire 20 years, 7 months that I had it. So when the day came that it heaved its last breath, the first thing I did was think...
Doesn';t take up much space on the counter; does a fair job in toasting
Isn't always 100% reliable in its toasting abilities; has a "pretty blue
Consumer review (shopping.com)
We just bought this toaster in the silver/black color. Sorry to say this was the only reason we bought the toaster other than it being 4 slotted. We recently changed our kitchen decor and were looking for the all black/stainless look. Being that...

With three kids, a four-slot toaster is a must in our household. Unfortunately, we didn't do any research before we headed to the store and just picked this one out because it was the cheapest on the shelf. There's a reason it was so cheap.
Nice idea
Simply doesn't work well

Everything falls through the Grid on the inside! The poptart label on the dial is tacky. In order to stop the taosting mechanism, you have to really pull the lever back up, thus casuing your food to slide through the "auto toasting grid"

You need to be a pro wrestler to slam the handle down hard enought for the toast to stay locked in the toast position.
Nice Looking box. Pop Tart Feature
Handle will not stay down unless you slam it

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how this product ever got to market. I mean, did it go straight from the drafting board (of an engineer who'd never designed a toaster) to the store shelves? Didn't they build a prototype and try it out to see...
Looks" well made, and probably will last a long time
Doesn't work worth a darn
