Cuisinart Multi-Temp CPK17U review

  (Rating Hidden)

The stainless steel CPK17U kettle from Cuisinart has a temperature control panel that allows you to select the best temperature for your drink. The matching Cuisinart toaster did well in our tests, so we were interested to see how this jug kettle...

Very disappointed

  (Rating Hidden)

We had this kettle for a few weeks before the lid mechanism failed. Given the branding and price we were a little disappointed in Cuisinart support which was to send them the kettle and await repairs or replacement, being without a kettle for the...

Nice but unreliable

  (Rating Hidden)

First one replaced under warranty, turned itself off before boiled, stopped beeping and light faded.2nd one starting to have beep faults and boiling issues again, paint wearing off switches after 18 months. Nice looking kettle and pours well but the...

Cuisine

Three year guarantee is longer than that given for most kettles. Stainless steel not a problem to clean at all. Noise only that of metal bodied kettle -and it's a handy reminder that it's switched on/coming to the boil. Really comfortable handle,...

Very, very poor product

Paid £70 from House of Fraser. Within weeks, the lid stopped halfway when opening. I thought that when we first got it, it boiled for too long after reaching 100 degrees. Now, about a year later it goes on and on and on before eventually turning itself...

My first impressions are that it does what I expected of it, namely that it boils water to the desired temperature reasonably quickly and quietly. The things of note beyond the basics are, it beeps when it has finished boiling, which is sufficiently...

very useful

Have had this for 2 years now, using filtered water to reduce scale deposits. Most useful is the temp gauge with manual setting so that the water will reach a pre determined value which is ideal for coffee.

Update

I loved it initially, unfortunately it brook after 14 months. Cuisine art said "wear and tear". Unaccepatable for the price. It was used as a domestic kettle in a household of 2.

Overall a very good kettle.

  (Rating Hidden)

The only problem I have had is that the lid will not always open, using the button. I have to resort to using a knife, to flip it up. However when cold and empty, there is no problem. I would have liked to be able to heat only 1 cup of water but...

Very good kettle

  (Rating Hidden)

The temperature gauge is very useful - and making green tea at 85C make a real difference to the flavor. Don't understand the issue with stainless steel marking easily - not really an issue for us, in fact because it is almost one piece of stainless...
