ViewSonic ViewPad 10e

A tablet that looks and feels a bit like an iPad 2 for under £200. Bargain of the year?

Excellent screen ; Decent build

Poor performance ; Buggy ; No Android Market ; Outdated OS

doppelganger on the cheap is ultimately a failure, but a minor one that comes with the flexibility benefits common to Android tablets. There is a blatant copycat element at work here that's unbecoming, though. Or perhaps we've just spent way too long...

ViewSonic ViewPad 10e review

An ultra-cheap tablet for those who won't buy an iPad

Well balanced feel in the hand ; Slim, easily portable design ; Great price ; Free apps ; Good audio through speakers

Dire homescreen search bar ; Fiddly power and unlock button ; Lack of Android Market ; Poor construction quality ; Sluggish processor

Having already attempted to take on the Android tablet market with the ViewSonic ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 7e, ViewSonic is back with a cut-price device.

ViewSonic ViewPad 10e

There's a saying in tech that when it comes to buying the latest computer you should always spend as much as you possibly can to make sure you get something that will last you as long as possible. On the surface the ViewPad 10e looks to be a bargain,...

Good design, will be upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich, cheap

Sluggish, Not honeycomb, no Android Marketplace

On the surface the ViewPad 10e looks to be a bargain, while the promise of Ice Cream Sandwich tantalising. In reality though, this is really a folly for those that like to tinker and have money and time to spare.

ViewSonic ViewPad 10e review

The ViewSonic ViewPad 10e is an Android tablet for under £200 with a similar 9.7in screen to the original iPad.

ViewSonic hypes the ViewPad 10e as a high-performance entertainment tablet but this simply wasn't our experience. Plasticky build quality should be expected for a cheap device although the ViewPad 10e does have a good screen and some useful...

Apps run smoothly, 3D interface is jazzy

Poor construction, jittery web browsing, no Android Market, bugs

ViewSonic ViewPad 10e Review by 3G.co.uk

A poorly built tablet that doesn't run well enough for us to recommend it

Apps run well; nifty 3D interface

Poor build quality; laggy web browsing; no access to Android Market; glitches

There’s not much to recommend the ViewPad 10e – with its glitches, slow web browsing and disappointing build quality. You could pick up a Tablo for half the price and get a far better tablet experience. It’s a pity because Viewsonic has produced some...

Viewsonic Viewpad 10e tablet

Review ‘Budget tablet' is a phrase that tends to crop up in reviews that only ever reach one conclusion: the product is pretty awful. But the new Viewsonic Viewpad 10e may be the exception that proves the rule, because this £200 Argos-exclusive [1]...

As it stands the Viewsonic ViewPad 10e is a rather impressive large screen tablet with an attractive price tag. There are a few rough edges, like the absence of the Android Market and mediocre battery life, but nowhere near as many or as serious as...

ViewSonic ViewPad 10e review

ViewSonic's new Android tablet is let down by a non-certified OS. Ever since Apple's iPad 2 became the most desired (but...

Attractive 3D interface

Gingerbread OS struggles to keep up; non-certified Google OS

If you're looking for a budget level Android tablet then you still might like to pause, before considering the ViewSonic ViewPad 10e – until its Gingerbread OS is upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich.

ViewSonic ViewPad 10e review

Low on storage and power, but it's a thin and light 9.7in tablet for half the price of an iPad 2

But if all this sounds overly negative, just remind yourself that the ViewPad 10e is a 9.7in tablet that costs half as much as an iPad 2. No, it won’t have the power or features of a tablet at twice the price, but it’s thin and light, with a decent...

ViewSonic - ViewPad 10

Say what you will about Apple's iPad tablet computer, it has certainly livened up the computer market. Every manufacturer seems to be falling over themselves to hang onto Apple's coat tails - and the resulting mess ...

We're not overly impressed by the ViewPad 10. Not so much because of the hardware - which is decent, if not outstanding - but because Windows 7 in touch mode on a small screen is a big disappointment. We were surprised to find the Android experience...
