Toshiba Excite 7.7 Android 4.0 Tablet review

Long before the Toshiba Excite 7.7 got its name, its prospects were cause for excitement. The tablet's beefy Nvidia Tegra 3-powered specs, its slim and lightweight design, its Android 4.02 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and its high-resolution...

The Toshiba Excite 7.7's zippy performance, light weight, and terrific display make for great usability. Now, if only the price of admission to this particular tablet ride weren't so high.

Toshiba Excite 7.7

More Info That 7.7-inch Toshiba tablet we saw at CES? It's called the AT270, and it runs Tegra 3 Toshiba announces Excite 10, 7.7 and 13 tablets, Thrive slates on their way out Toshiba pushes AT270 Tegra 3 tablet through the FCC, gets Excited In its...

Excellent graphics and gaming ; Thin, light and easy to handle ; Stock Ice Cream Sandwich

The camera might as well not exist ; Lackluster audio quality ; Slightly overpriced

The Excite 7.7 is a huge improvement over the Thrive series and offers tantalizing features for gamers, but its price won't be a good fit for casual users.

Toshiba Excite 7 review

Even though the Toshiba 7 has a temptingly low-price, if you're in the market for a budget tablet, keep your options open. The Excite 7 isn't as breathtaking as its name would suggest, donning an overwhelmingly plastic design and unfashionably dull...

The Toshiba Excite 7 tablet is competitively priced and features a microSD card expansion slot.

Its plastic-y body feels cheap and performance slows significantly if multiple apps are open. The low resolution screen looks pixelated and dull compared to other similarly priced tablets, and it's sometimes unresponsive.

Though low-priced, the Toshiba Excite 7 fails to offer as much value as other budget tablets.

Toshiba Excite review: 13, 10, and 7.7-inch tablets

Toshiba's first few tablets didn't exactly conform to what we expect from a slate. First there was the Thrive, which was enormous and thick but came with a full laptop-like load of ports and options. Then came the Excite 10 LE, which eschewed anything...

Gorgeous display ; Fast and reliable ; Thin and light

Really expensive ; Imperfect build quality ; Not enough tablet apps for Android

Will everyone find something to love in Toshiba's three-tablet lineup?

Toshiba Excite 7.7

The Toshiba Excite 7.7 is one of the finest Android 4.0 tablets money can buy, but it's too expensive even given its high-end components.

Thin and light aluminum design. Gorgeous AMOLED display. Fast, reliable performance. Ships with Android 4.0.

Expensive. Poor camera performance. Disappointing battery life.

Conclusions The Toshiba Excite 7.7 manages to pack in most of the features of the even-more-expensive Galaxy Tab 7.7 for $200 less, although you lose the Tab's LTE radio and substantial battery life. That said, any 7-inch tablet priced at more than...

Toshiba Excite 7.7 Review

Toshiba are slowly trying to build up their brand recognition amongst the competitive Android tablet market. Fortunately, they're steering themselves toward the correct direction, which is evident by the Toshiba Excite 10 that we reviewed recently....

Solid construction ; Vibrant AutoBrite AMOLED display ; Fast performance

Expensive ; Poor photo/video quality ; Extremely weak speakers

No longer regarded as a newcomer in the Android tablet scene, Toshiba is doing a great job in building up its reputation with its new line of Excite tablets. Just like its names, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding the diminutive Toshiba Excite...

Toshiba Excite 7.7 Tag-Team Review: The Best Tablet You'll Never Buy

Just over a week ago, Aaron and I (Cameron) each received a review unit of the Excite 7.7. While I will largely be taking the reigns on this one, Aaron

This tablet has a killer display, excellent performance, and an extremely comfortable form factor - so, what's wrong with it? Sadly, the price will be the downfall of this amazing little machine. This is, hands down, one of the best tablets I've ever...

Toshiba Excite 7.7 Review

The Toshiba Excite 7.7 is the most exciting Android tablet I've used thanks to a slim design, perfect size, beautiful display and powerful Tegra 3 processor.

The Toshiba Excite 7.7 is one of the first Android tablets good enough to leave my iPad untouched. The small size and good build quality make for a tablet that is perfect for carrying whenever I leave the house.

"The best 7" yet"

I'm not sure what's wrong with cnet these days, but they missed this one. This was a spendy tablet, but you can pick a new one up for 300 now, and it easily beats the nexus 7 in almost every area. My only gripes are the camera and the proprietary...

Awesome display

Lousy camera
