Samsung Galaxy Tab (AT&T)

 

AT&T's Galaxy Tab is just as good as other carriers' models, but the carrier pointlessly raised the price.

Still the best non-iPad tablet. Plans include Wi-Fi hotspots. Not much bloatware.

High up-front price. Blocks non-Android Market apps. AT&T's own apps are subpar.

Pricing, Service Plans and Conclusions The AT&T Galaxy Tab costs $649 with no contract required; there's no discounted two-year contract option, which I find a little inflexible. Every other carrier is offering the Tab with no contract for $599, so...

Samsung Galaxy Tab (U.S. Cellular)

 

U.S. Cellular's version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet does away with carrier-provided bloatware.

No bloatware. Inexpensive low-data plan. Carrier gets great subscriber ratings.

Expensive service plan for moderate data users. Questionable upgrade path with the 'Honeycomb' Android upgrade coming in 2011.
