Microsoft Surface Pro 6 review: The latest flexible 2-in-1 from Mircosoft is a powerful, if expensive, option

Great screen ; Good battery life ; Solid performance ; Light and portable hybrid design

Expensive ; Keyboard dock may be too small for some

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 6 is a light and portable 2-in-1 with a decent display that’s ideal for office work and streaming.

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 review: Class-leader isn't without quirks

Class-leading design for a 2-in-1 ; Great screen resolution and brightness ; Plenty of power available from such a form factor ; Battery improved over previous Intel Core i model

Hardly any different to the 2017 version ; Still no USB-C port ; Keyboard not included ; Can get very expensive (to the point a laptop might make more sense)

The sixth-gen Pro is the best to date thanks largely to improved battery life. However, the familiar form factor, bezels that are larger than competitors' equivalents, and lack of USB-C port feels like this Surface is holding back from what's around...

More of the same, but the Surface Pro 6 is still one of the best Windows tablets around. Here's our review.

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 review

Could this be the iPad rival we've been waiting for...

Slick black finish ; Performance boost ; Pen is still brilliant

Can be expensive ; Type Cover not lap-friendly ; Missing some ports

The Surface Pro 6 isn’t for everyone but it’s a very capable two-in-one tablet

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 tablet review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 is the latest high-end Windows 10 tablet that can double up as a laptop thanks to its optional TypeCover keyboard. With impressive specifications that make it more expensive than an iPad Pro, can this premium machine prove...

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 review: Powerful, pretty - and pointless

This 2-in-1 is a great machine that doesn't deserve your money

Great performance; Black colour scheme looks gorgeous

No USB-C support; Underwhelming battery life

There’s nothing technically wrong with the Surface Pro 6, and we doubt that anyone would be disappointed if they bought one. However, it’s crippled by the fact that it doesn’t particularly improve on its predecessor.

Surface Pro 6 review: Still the best 2-in-1 PC

The Surface Pro 6 is the complete tablet PC package: It's fast, light and has a great keyboard cover. But that was also true of last year's model. And it's facing stiffer competition this year from the Surface Go.

The fastest Surface yet ; Screen is a big improvement ; Still the best tablet keyboard around ; Battery life is better than before ; Black case option is a nice change of pace

No major design changes ; Performance hasn’t changed much since last year

Microsoft Surface Pro 6

With a modest speed boost and a new color choice, the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 may not have changed much from the previous iteration, but what we loved about this 2-in-1 convertible then, we still love now.

Speedy new 8th Generation Intel processor. Good battery life. Premium feel. Sleek all-black color option. Brilliant display. Well-implemented kickstand.

Minimal changes from previous model. As ever, keyboard sold separately. Not ideal for in-lap use. Somewhat restrictive configuration combinations. Limited ports.

Bottom Line: With a modest speed boost and a new color choice, the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 may not have changed much from the previous iteration, but what we loved about this 2-in-1 convertible then, we still love now.

Surface Pro 6 review: Racing ahead of last year's model

Microsoft's Surface Pro 6 gets even faster, but be ready to pay for must-have extras.

The Surface Pro 6's jump to new quad-core processors pays off in big performance gains. The new black color option looks cool. Still the best kickstand and keyboard for Windows tablets.

Be ready to shell out extra for the keyboard cover, stylus and even for the new matte black design. CPU and color aside, it's a very minimal upgrade over the previous version.

The latest Surface Pro tablet doesn't make any radical design changes, but the performance jump makes it viable as a mainstream performance laptop replacement.

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 review: a familiar bet

Surface Pro is still the 2-in-1 to beat

Quad-core performance inside a lightweight tablet ; Mostly silent operation ; Matte black finish

Still no USB-C ports ; Dated design ; Lapability still not ideal
