Update 17/06/2015: It's over a year since the Surface Pro 3 came out, so how does it look now? More or less the same. It's still an outstanding hybrid and there isn't a product in its class that surpasses it. That's partly because the Surface Pro 3 is...
Oustanding build quality ; Sharp and bright screen ; Hugely versatile all-in-one ; Very accurate digital pen
Not great on your lap ; Too big for small tray tables ; Lacks full-size SD card slot

Microsoft's tablet vision pays off with Surface Pro 3
Sharp display and design ; Huge Type Cover upgrade ; Can truly do both
OK battery life ; Runs hot at times ; Type Cover still optional
Not without its drawbacks, this is the brightest shining example of not only Microsoft's vision of a laptop-free future, but the entire laptop-tablet hybrid category.

Microsoft's third Surface Pro is out to replace your laptop
Good screen ; Lots of power ; Keyboard accessory is great
Not great battery life ; Expensive higher-spec versions ; Keyboard not included

Microsoft Surface is one of those products lines that's neither quite here nor there. But the Surface Pro 3 looks to change that, by refreshing the range in a new, larger 12-inch model that Microsoft has referred to as a "laptop killer". So is the...
Finally has a proper stand with variable positioning, significant screen resolution with decent viewing angles, a viable laptop alternative (if used with keyboard cover)
Screen is reflective, expensive, no keyboard included in price, nowhere to store stylus, far bigger than most tablets, no discrete graphics, no MS Office as standard
So is the Surface Pro 3 the "laptop killer" it claims to be? It's not out and out murder, not even manslaughter really, more a viable laptop alternative with full Windows 8.1 that will suit a certain audience.

It was clear with the launch of the Surface Pro 3 that Microsoft had someone in its sights: Apple. The MacBook Air and the iPad took the full broadside

The Surface Pro 3 is a stunning feat of engineering: the thinnest and lightest of laptops, which also works as a tablet. Here's our Surface Pro 3 UK review: with Surface Pro 3 benchmarks, specs and buying advice.
A very decent laptop replacement, and an okay tablet, the Surface Pro 3 is undeniably impressive. If you need a single device to do everything we can't think of any better device. And when you consider the cost of buying a discrete laptop, tablet and...

The simple answer is that both the Surface devices are Windows tablets - slates that run full Windows 8. But the truth is better, if more nuanced. The Surface Pro 3 is a game changer: the first truly portable power PC. It is both a Windows tablet, and...
We remain truly enamoured of the Surface Pro 3, a staggeringly impressive piece of engineering. On the face of it the Surface 3 is a cheaper, but less good version. Without testing it we cannot say for sure, but it feels to us as though the Surface 3...

Many Apple fans were hoping for an iPad Pro this year, but it didn't happen. What they did get was a successor to the iPad Air. Here we compare the iPad Air 2 with Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 so you know which is the best device to buy.
Which is best all comes down to what you want to do with a tablet. For entertainment, web browsing, email, social networks, games, photography and video, the iPad wins. It's also a lot cheaper than the Surface Pro 3. A lot.If you need a tablet that's...

Google teamed up with HTC to design the Nexus 9, which we think looks sleek, sophisticated. It sports a brushed metal frame around the edge and soft grip plastic on the back. The Nexus 9 comes in black, white and a new sand colour.
Taking a look over the specs and features of both tablets, it should quickly become clear to you which of these devices is most suited to your needs. If you like the idea of having a tablet that can replace your laptop, enabling you to use full...

Microsoft is hoping to entice those keen on their tablets and ultrabooks away from the norm and embrace its latest tablet-cum-laptop, the new Surface Pro 3. The...
