Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet (3rd Gen) review

A versatile Windows 10 tablet that's also a powerful laptop

Great design and build quality ; ThinkPad Pen Pro included ; Two Thunderbolt 3 ports ; Vivid 13-inch 3K touchscreen

Battery life is still limiting ; Bulkier than the Surface Pro ; Speakers are small and quiet ; It doesn’t sit well on your lap

This Lenovo hybrid is a powerful forward-thinking laptop, with a well-designed tear-off keyboard which when removed leaves you with a sharp, robust and responsive tablet. Add a side-stored stylus and two Thunderbolt 3 ports and you have a Windows 10...

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet (3rd Gen)

With its redesigned ThinkPad X1 Tablet, Lenovo serves the Surface Pro notice. This 13-inch showpiece Windows 10 slate packs a fine pen, a top-shelf keyboard cover, and Thunderbolt 3 support.

Two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Terrific 3K touch screen. First-class keyboard. Aggressively priced Core i7 model.

Battery life could be better. Slightly balky touchpad. Pen isn't magnetized to stick to the side of the tablet.

Bottom Line: With its redesigned ThinkPad X1 Tablet, Lenovo serves the Surface Pro notice. This 13-inch showpiece Windows 10 slate packs a fine pen, a top-shelf keyboard cover, and Thunderbolt 3 support.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet review: Smart upgrades make this a worthy, pricey choice

Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Tablet (3rd Gen) makes a very good tablet even better with the latest 8th-gen processors, a 3K display, a better keyboard and more.

Upgraded Kaby Lake-R processors ; 3K display on a par with the competition's ; SSD size has increased to 512GB (as tested) ; Reinforced keyboard improves the typing experience

Battery life is still lackluster ; Pen holster is an upgrade, but still not as effective as a loop ; Still quite expensive

Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Tablet lineup has tended to emphasize productivity, which points toward the PCMark Office test, primarily, for benchmarking. But with this generation, Lenovo has added a more powerful 8th-generation Core processor. We expected that...

One of the best Microsoft Surface alternatives gets a great update.

The new model, which comes with the keyboard and stylus accessories, features a bigger 13-inch screen.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet Review

The ThinkPad X1 Tablet (3rd Gen) is a slick 2-in-1 detachable that's super comfy, military-durable and powerful enough to do some light gaming.

Gorgeous design; Durable, MIL-STD 810G tested; Great keyboard and stylus; Impressive webcams; Solid performance; Bright and vivid display

Below-average battery life; Poorly designed pen slot; Quiet sound

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet 2018 (i5, 3K-IPS) Convertible Review

The best business convertible? Lenovo has completely reworked the ThinkPad X1 Tablet, which now includes a larger touchscreen, two Thunderbolt 3 ports and much faster CPUs. This has the caveat that these faster chips have to be actively cooled now. Is...

stable high-quality chasssis ; high CPU performance ; very good input devices ; Keyboard & pen come included ; integrated LTE ; 2x Thunderbolt 3 ; very good display ; 3 year warranty ; Brightness-sensor also used for the keyboard backlight

glossy screen ; no USB A ports ; fans are clearly audible under load ; high temperatures under load ; middling battery-life ; bad speakers ; smudge-prone materials (especially the keyboard)

Let us begin with our introductory question – is the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet the best business convertible? This question can not be answered in general, because the competing devices are just too different in the details. It depends on how the...

Review: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet (3rd-gen)

Looking for something like the X1 Carbon ultrabook but in tablet form? That's where Lenovo's slim ThinkPad X1 Tablet comes in. The model is now in its third generation, bringing the same ThinkPad aesthetic of past models in refreshed form. There was a...

Slim, attractive, and durable ; Detachable keyboard gives laptop-like experience ; Redesigned kickstand with typing angles ; 3K display dazzles ; Improved security adds FIDO authentication

Battery life is adequate but not great

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet 3rd Gen review: A top-quality 2-in-1 detachable Review | ZDNet

The 2018 ThinkPad X1 Tablet is compact and durable, offering a bundled stylus, all-day battery life and optional mobile broadband.

High quality 3K touch-screen ; Good kickstand ; Bundled ThinkPad Pen Pro ; All-day battery life

Fiddly access to MicroSD card slot ; LTE mobile broadband is an optional extra ; Housing for stylus still not perfect ; No ThinkShutter camera privacy
