Lenovo ThinkPad Helix

Hands-on: We Rip and Flip with Lenovo's latest 11.6-inch hybrid tablet.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Helix feels like a hybrid roadwarrior. It's reasonably light, especially in its class, offers great build quality and careful attention to detail in its construction. It may not be a beauty, but it's one of the better full Windows 8...

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix (2015) review

A powerful and flexible but pricey Windows tablet

Excellent battery life ; Great screen ; Powerful overall performance

Expensive ; Slightly outperformed by other laptops ; Not particularly thin or light

Scores in depth Along with full x86 compatibility, one of the alluring features of Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 over an iPad or Android tablet is its strong performance. You can get a lot done with a dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory and an...

Lenovo Thinkpad Helix review

The Helix's functionality doesn't come cheap

Solid keyboard ; Versatile design ; Wide 1080p display perfect for movies ; Strong battery life

Tablet has awkward form factor and recessed switches ; Unintuitive, finicky touchpad ; Ugly dock ; Top heavy and tippy ; Expensive

When we first saw the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix at CES 2013, it had us really excited. We thought Lenovo had finally cracked the convertible ultrabook, a design we've never been totally sold on. But that was months ago, in a pre-Haswell, 12-hour MacBook...

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix review

What we need to point out is that this is no handheld tablet – one-handed anyway. Like Microsoft's Surface, it's too long and bulky and will put large amounts of strain on the wrist. However, it works well as a desk- or lap-bound tablet. The keyboard...

The Lenovo ThinkPad Helix is a good effort at a hybrid Windows tablet and laptop. However, it's extremely high price tag means that if wanted such a device we’d have to recommend the Surface Pro as a better value alternative – it's less than half the...

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix review

The Helix is a well-made but expensive product that presents an interesting question. While there very well may be a market for an 11-inch hybrid with an emphasis on business and security features and a body leaning toward the industrial, rugged side,...

The Lenovo ThinkPad Helix is a solidly built laptop-tablet hybrid with all the security features your IT department needs. Thanks to dual batteries in the tablet and keyboard base, it can run for a full workday.

The Helix is stuck with Intel's less efficient previous generation of CPUs, making it feel especially expensive.

Even with the best detachable-screen hybrid hinge we've seen, the older CPU and high price make the ThinkPad Helix a hybrid for a select audience only.

Lenovo Thinkpad Helix hands-on review

Featuring an Intel Core M chip, Lenovo's updated Thinkpad promises better performance

Our initial impressions of the Thinkpad Helix are positive, as it has some worthy upgrades from its predecessor, particularly the Intel Core M processor.

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix review

A hybrid Ultrabook with Intel Core i power, great keyboard dock and decent battery life.

Great keyboard; Pin-sharp display; Battery in the display and keyboard

Top heavy and prone to tip while on lap; Expensive when compared with more desirable rival machines

One of the best Windows 8 hybrids on the market, but it comes at a high price. The ThinkPad Helix performs provides good performance with the x86 architecture without sacrificing battery life. Coupled with the excellent keyboard from the trusted...

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix

One of the better detachable hybrid tablets on the market, the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix gives the corporate IT buyer a prime option for their highly mobile workforce. This could be the best choice if you need both laptop and tablet functionality.

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix

It’s not to say the ThinkPad Helix is without it faults. Located at the back of the keyboard dock is a flimsy piece of plastic that detracts from the overall design. The tablet gets very hot, even when only playing a movie or simply using the net,...
