Lenovo Miix 510 review: A cheaper Surface Pro rival, but it lacks the battery life to keep up

Nippy performance ; Good screen and stylus ; Solid build quality and relatively lightweight

Sub-par battery life ; Annoying touchpad ; Expensive considering shortcomings

Lenovo Miix 510 review

Can Lenovo's latest 2-in-1 take the fight to Microsoft's Surface Pro 4?

Beats Surface Pro 4 on price ; Has USB-C as well as USB 3.0 ; Included keyboard cover

No microSD ; Charger should be USB-C ; Average battery life

There are a couple of reasons (battery, screen) why you’d go for the Surface Pro 4 instead, but the Miix 510 offers an awful lot for the price.

Lenovo Miix 510 preview: Is that a Surface? No, but it's just as serious and more affordable

First glance at the Lenovo Miix 510 and you'll be looking for the Microsoft logo. But no, this isn't the Surface 4, this is the Chinese maker's savvy take on the 2-in-1.

Lenovo Miix 510 review

Lenovo's Miix 510 laptop/tablet hybrid is a solid alternative to the Microsoft Surface Pro at a much lower price.

It’s alarming that Lenovo has managed to get quite as close to the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 at half the cost here. High-quality build, a good screen, solid performance and a comfortable keyboard mean there’s nothing to let the side down and make the...

Lenovo Miix 510 review

This is one convertible that's not afraid to Miix things up

Latest-gen CPU means snappy performance ; Bundled stylus is a nice extra ; Works great as a tablet, and as a laptop

Keyboard oddities rule out even basic gaming ; Battery ain’t amazing ; Screen resolution is lacking against the Surface Pro

It might be a mouthful, and lacking when it comes to pixel count, but the Miix 510-12IKB 80XE is still a hybrid hero.

Lenovo Miix 510 review: A Surface Pro 4 clone that's (almost) better than the real thing

The Miix 510 tablet PC looks a lot like its Microsoft competitor, but its unique features and a lower price could make it a better option.

The good-looking hinged kickstand has a lot of positioning flexibility. Has a USB-C port for video output and peripherals with adapters. Unlike Microsoft, Lenovo includes a generally excellent backlit keyboard cover. Lenovo's Active Pen and palm...

The fans can get a little too loud for quiet environments. No memory card slot for expansion. The Active Pen is a $40 extra and its included holder blocks the power jack. The tiny right-hand shift key is horrible.

The Lenovo Miix 510 is an excellent -- and more affordable -- alternative to Microsoft's 2-in-1 tablet PC. And it might be the better choice for you.

Lenovo Miix 510 Review

The Lenovo Miix 510 looks like a worthy successor to the Surface Pro 4. Read on to find out if the premium look and feel of the silver magnesium-alloy unibody design is enough to seal the deal.

Review: Lenovo Miix 510 2-in-1 Windows 10 PC

Lenovo 's latest 2-in-1 PC is, like others before it, composed of two parts: a tablet portion and a detachable keyboard. When connected together, the sum total of parts that is the Miix 510 form a quasi-laptop; when separated, though, you have a highly...

Excellent display ; Attractive, premium design ; Velvet-like slip cover ; Very sturdy hinge with ample viewing angles

Some flex in keyboard when typing ; Keyboard layout requires some adjustment ; Battery life is somewhat disappointing

The Lenovo Miix 510 isn’t a Surface, but it’s a suitable substitution. Lenovo’s latest 2-in-1 PC packs a bunch of features we’re excited to see, wrapping them all up in a stylish shell. The display is great, as is the kickstand and overall design, and...
