Lenovo's Miix 520 is a Surface Pro clone with a longer battery

The Miix 520's new eighth-gen Intel processor helps push this two-in-one ahead of the competition.

The Lenovo Miix 520 looks identical to the Miix 510, but its new processor and components help get you better performance and battery life. Far-field microphones have been added for better use of Microsoft's Cortana digital assistant. Keyboard cover...

The pen holder completely blocks the USB-A port and, when it's holding the pen, partially blocks the power jack and USB-C port. The fans can get a little too loud for quiet environments. Battery life is unimpressive.

Intel's eighth-gen Core i5 processor breathes new life into Lenovo's midrange detachable two-in-one to make the Miix 520 an excellent choice for home office and students.

Lenovo Miix 520

Can't spring for a Surface Pro? The Lenovo Miix 520 is the best midrange Windows tablet you can buy right now, with excellent computing performance, a good keyboard, and an included stylus.

Terrific performance. Stylish, sturdy watchband-style kickstand hinges. Lenovo Active Pen is included.

Stand design precludes comfortable lap use. Relatively short battery life. Occasional fan noise.

Bottom Line: Can't spring for a Surface Pro? The Lenovo Miix 520 is the best midrange Windows tablet you can buy right now, with excellent computing performance, a good keyboard, and an included stylus.

Lenovo Miix 520-12IKB (i7-8550U, SSD, WUXGA) Convertible Review

Great components. Lenovo's Surface Pro competitor can score with a strong quad-core processor, 16 GB of RAM, an NVMe SSD, a backlit keyboard, input pen and LTE modem. But despite its high price, the device is not free from issues.

bright, IPS display with stable viewing angles ; fast NVMe SSD ; 16 GB of memory ; LTE modem ; backlit keyboard ; input pen ; maintenance possible

low-contrast display ; average battery runtimes ; PWM ; average Wi-Fi transfer rates

The Lenovo Miix 520 belongs to the segment of 12.2-inch detachables. Its Core i7 processor offers sufficient performance for office and Internet applications. The fast NVMe SSD provides a fast-running system. The integrated LTE modem enables you to...

Lenovo Miix 520 (i5-8250U, FHD) Convertible Review

The Surface Pro alternative. Faster than the fastest Surface Pro and cheaper as well, the Lenovo tablet returns with Kaby Lake-R to boost the Miix family back on top.

Active stylus, carrying case, and backlit keyboard base included ; USB Type-A, USB Type-C, and MicroSD reader ; strong watchband hinge ; excellent chassis quality ; fast NVMe SSD ; optional LTE

small and spongy trackpad; tracking issues on our unit ; pulse-width modulation on nearly all brightness levels ; CPU unable to maintain maximum Turbo Boost ; dimmer display backlight than the competition ; average battery life; small battery capacity...

The best aspects of the Miix 520 are its processor performance, SSD performance, port versatility, and price. Its performance-per-Dollar is one of the best in the market at the moment as most other Windows tablets are still stuck with Core Y or 7th...

Lenovo Miix 520 review: A 2-in-1 laptop tablet hybrid that builds on last year's model

With the Lenovo Miix 520 out and about, it keeps the same look and feel as the Miix 510, but with a slight upgrade in the processor, graphics, and camera departments. Let's take a look at how different the Miix 520 is from its younger brother the Miix...

Elegant Design ; Windows 10 Home ; Battery life ; Camera

Price is a bit too high for what you're getting compared to last years model ; Speakers

Overall, the Lenovo Miix 520 2-in-1 laptop does the job if you’re using it for basic work such as something for school, watching videos on YouTube or Hulu, or a work conference with Skype. The increase in price doesn’t seem to match with the upgrades...
