Lenovo Tab 2 A8 gets Lollipop love and a dash of Dolby Atmos (hands on) - Pocket-lint

Tablets of all shapes and sizes are ten a penny these days, making it harder to stand out from the crowd. The latest budget Lenovo Tab 2 A8 8-inch tablet

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8 is a bare-bones budget buy (review)

The 8-inch tablet features a basic build and simple specs, but for $129, £90 or AU$229, what more do you expect?

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8 is an affordable tablet for surfing the Web, checking email and streaming video. The preloaded Dolby app significantly improves audio quality. It has a microSD card slot.

The design is thick and hefty. The 1,280x800-resolution display is low by today's standards. Large apps and games take a while to load, and performance within them is sometimes sluggish.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8's performance is typical for its size and price, but if you're strapped for cash, it's fine for casual use.

Lenovo Tab 2 A8 & A10 review: New budget Android tablets

Lenovo used MWC 2015 in Barcelona this week to launch two new and affordable Android tablets: the Lenovo Tab 2 A8 and the Lenovo Tab 2 A10. We tried them out at the Lenovo stand during the show to bring you our Lenovo Tab 2 A10 and A8 hands-on review.

Lenovo's new Android tablets are decent new entries into the budget tablet market, despite the lack of any particularly interesting or outstanding features. They'll do the trick for anyone looking for an all-rounder in either the 8in or 10in tablet...

Lenovo Tab 2 A8 review: Hands-on

We put the Chinese firm's first Android Lollipop tablet through its paces

The Lenovo Tab A8 is set to launch in selected regions in June with prices starting at $129. The device won't revolutionise the tablet market from what we've seen so far, but it could be a solid choice for any buyer looking for an affordable, small...

Lenovo Tab 2 A8 review

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50 is perfect if you're on a tight budget, but don't expect the speed or perks of a high-end tablet.

Solid build ; Stereo speakers ; Great battery life ; Near stock Android experience

Sluggish performance ; Poor Camera ; Slow Wi-Fi ; No quick charging

Lenovo A8 review

Although Lenovo is marketing the A8 as a great bargain for buyers with a tight budget, it doesn't live up to expectations. You can buy a 2013 Nexus 7 from Google for only $50 more, and you should.

Lenovo Tab 2 A8

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8 is an average 8-inch Android tablet that delivers solid battery life for a good price, but does little else to stand out from the competition.

Long battery life. Bright, colorful screen. Lightweight.

Sluggish performance. Tinny speakers. Some bloatware.

Conclusions The Lenovo Tab 2 A8 is a resoundingly average Android tablet. If you're looking for an 8-inch tablet with long battery life for when you don't have access to a power outlet, it'll do the trick. But you'll get a lot more bang for your buck...

Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 review: A good screen (and not much else) for a great price

The otherwise simple $200 tablet features a full HD 10-inch screen.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 is an affordable tablet with a full HD screen. The pre-loaded Dolby app significantly improves audio quality. It has a microSD card slot to increase its base storage capacity.

Large games take a undesirably long time to load. The tablet feels uncomfortable after holding it for a long time.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 offers one of the sharpest HD screens for the price, making it an attractively affordable option for heavy video-watchers.

Lenovo A8 blue

Its simple specs are on par with similar budget 8-inchers, like the pure-Android-packing Dell Venue 8 . It consistently performs smoothly during most basic tasks, but its audio-enhancing Dolby Digital app gives it a slight performance edge.

The Lenovo A8 starts at $179 and features a comfy and lightweight build. The built-in Dolby Digital audio integration enhances the mono speaker's sound quality, and its IPS screen boasts wide-viewing angles, with deep contrast levels.

There is no app tray, and organization of menu screens can get tedious. Both rear- and front-facing cameras produce dull photos.

The Lenovo A8 is a solid, simple slate, but its lack of an app tray makes other budget options more appealing.
