Le Pan TC970 9.7-inch Android Tablet Review

Ever since Apple introduced the first iPad the tablet market has been going crazy. Pretty much every manufacturer of technology has a tablet in their lineup now

– Aluminum design ; – Runs everything perfectly ; – Smooth and fluid operation ; – Speakers are pretty loud ; – Beautiful screen

– Microphone performance not that great

For being the first tablet that I have had a chance to really spend some time with I am pleased with it. I really like the size and design. The 9.7-inch screen size seems pretty much perfect for a tablet. It makes viewing media, reading books, and just...

Le Pan TC970

Bright, responsive screen Full access to android market - use other browsers and better home screen Apps. Very good battery life Exceptional tablet for the money See manufacturer webpage lepantab.com

Auto screen rotation doesn't work right on some screens of some Apps Comes with US power adapter - you'll need a 2 to 3 pin adapter or a UK 2amp USB power adapter. Soon to be superceded by better model Le Pan II !

Horrible

returned one tablet, and the replacement was just as bad as the first. I guess you get what you pay for. Shame on me for trying to save a buck.

Le Pan 970 The Good, The Bad

Newegg handled this matter as I expected, perfectly! This is why I am a Newegg customer.

Nice price, Newegg had this unit for $179.00 plus a $50.00 newegg gift card, but 2 days later Newegg had this same LePan 970 for $10.00's less, I called Newegg and they issued me a credit for the $10.00...very nice ; The LePan 970 to me is well worth...

2 weeks into using this I was charging the unit overnight and the next day I push the power switch and wake this unit up, well that didn't happen so I pulled the charging cable and reconnected and the unit woke up so I pushed the power button and...

Needs Upgrade for Android 2.2

Works, but somewhat slow

Would be great if LePan would allow or offer an upgrade to the Android 2.2 ; A-2.2 is a little "old ; Also, the 2 gig of onboard memory is restrictive considering most apps from Google Play want to load onto resident memory

Bad Product

I wont try to save $30 or so (it was on sale) over tried and true brands. Just my take.

Android is sweet

We purchased this for our son's christmas present and in the first week it broke. The power button sticks and/or loses contact internally. In other words it will not turn on no matter how long button is held or how many times it is pressed. Being I...

Damaged Product, Terrible Service From New Egg

Even if the unit was scratched when I returned it (which I do not believe is the case) it should not matter because New Egg sent me a tablet that was broken in the first place! If this isn't made right in a timely manner I will never do business with...

I think this would be a very nice product if it was working properly

The unit I received would freeze when I plugged it in for charging. After unplugged it would not reboot properly, and froze frequently during the boot sequence. It required many manual resets to get it functioning after charging. This wastes hours of...

avoid this one

Loved this at first but after having issues with the old operating system and now having the thing go crazy with random screen colors, this is a total dog. Will not be buying any LePan product from here on!

1) Great battery life ; 2) Low price

1) Bottom right corner lifts up, not perfect seal ; 2) Very slow boot up and shut down times ; 3) After using it for 4 months, the screen went totally crazy with random colors on it ; 4) Company claimed to have OS upgrade from Froyo (Android 2) to a...

Excellent tablet after Android 2.3 update

Stock- especially to a non-technical user- this tablet is a 3.5/5 stars. After going over to XDA and getting 2.3 (Gingerbread) on it, it runs like a champ (much better battery life) and gets 5/5. There is active (but young) development over at XDA and...

Excellent tablet for around $200. For the specs (which are comparable to the iPad 2) you cannot go wrong ; High resolution screen is really gorgeous (1024 x 768). I am very picky, and extremely pleased with the screen size and look ; 512MB DDR2 RAM is...

Stock Android 2.2 is not super great ; It's heavy. You start to feel it if you hold it in awkward positions for too long ; It picks up fingerprints. Deal with it ; A little unstable depending on settings/apps. There is a reset button on the back to...
