The triumphal return of the stylus or a needless throwback?
Stylish design ; Fast performance ; Styus is a very useful addition ; Slick interface ; Portable and easy to hold
Stuck using Android 2.3 ; Too expensive ; App support limited ; Stylus doesn't dock inside tablet
As well as the rear camera, there's a 1.3 megapixel front facing one nestled in the bezel. Opposite this are another of this tablet's rather adorable features. In normal portrait position, with the screen unlocked, four navigation buttons shine from...

Some great features, but ultimately overpriced and without Honeycomb
HTC Sense is intuitive ; Portable size ; It has a pen
Limited connectivity ; Lacks Honeycomb features ; High price
There are some things we love about the Flyer: the high-quality build, the size, performance and HTC Sense is slick and efficient. Sure Sense lacks features of Honeycomb, but it’s arguably simpler to navigate. The Flyer is not a multimedia powerhouse,...

The tablet market is heating up and heating up fast. So what makes HTC think that it has what you need when it comes to a tablet? Some have called out some glaring spec shortcomings of the HTC Flyer. Can HTC overcome and weave its magic with HTC Sense?...
Pen, size, build quality
No Honeycomb, not dual core, no space for the pen on the actual device
The HTC Flyer is a giant phone without the phone calling capabilities, just as the iPad 2 is a giant iPhone without the calling capabilities. The Flyer sports HTC Sense, it has the same aspect ratio as a phone, and even runs a phone operating system...

HTC makes some of the finest Android smartphones around, so we were intrigued to see how well its first tablet would perform. While it looks beautiful and its compact form makes it an ideal travel companion, we wonder why it doesn't have a tablet OS.
The HTC Flyer is a superb-looking tablet with enough processing power to drive its multimedia functions. Its high price tag is more of an issue than its use of the older Android 2.3 OS, given that other aspects of this likable tablet are so advanced....

HTC has certainly made its mark in the smartphone arena, but does its first foray into the world of tablets measure up?
The Flyer would be tempting at half the price, but it smells too much like 2010 for us

Kudos to HTC for trying to do something different with the Flyer, but as a first effort it disappoints. The Magic Pen adds only modest value, and the rest feels closer to the Samsung Galaxy Tab from last year than the cutting-edge dual-core devices...

Gets an upgrade
HTC has updated the Flyer tablet to Android 3.2 Honeycomb so we take a look at what's changed.

The HTC Flyer is a good size and highly portable, but you might struggle to get it into a jacket pocket. While it is great for viewing content, you'll need a keyboard if you're editing long documents with Polaris Office, although the onboard software...

We put the HTC Flyer up against the older Samsung Galaxy Tab
might not be quite as popular as the fruit themed alternative, but they are certainly proving to be more interesting.

HTC's first tablet has the look of asquished iPod about it, with a 178mm (7-inch) screensurrounded by a 195x122x13mm and 420g case, it's all brushedaluminium and white rubberised plastic -- très pomme.
Delicious casing ; Sharp 178mm screen ; Sense 2.1 for tablet UI ; Sophisticated drawing/writing stylus
Not Android 3.0 Honeycomb ; Occasional lag ; Non-standard microUSB connection ; Camera not great ; No HDMI port
