The low cost of the Slate 7 HD doesn't help it overcome its flaws

Free 3G data ; Beats Audio inside ; MicroSD slot

Not a full HD display ; Pedestrian performance ; Cheap design

In a world dominated by cheap Android tablets and iPads, HP has chosen to offer two years of 3G data to help differentiate itself. Unfortunately though, if you can live without you'd be better off shopping elsewhere.

The Slate 7 is HP's stab at the smaller tablet market. We managed to get some time with the device, here's our HP Slate 7 hands-on review.

More entry-level tablets are good for the market. HP’s Slate 7 is a long way from being amazing, but if it’s priced well it’s nothing but good news for the consumer as it offers something a little different and is pretty good looking too in our opinion.
