HP's Elite range usually comprises business laptops, but the Elite x2 1011 G1 marks a change from that particular blueprint. This is a hybrid machine with a detachable screen and a huge slate of business features.
Class-leading battery life ; Detachable tablet section ; High-quality keyboard
Underpowered internals ; Misfiring touchpad ; Chunkier than most rivals ; Mediocre screen quality

The HP Elite x2 has plenty to offer – but does it justify the cost?
Powerful range of specs ; Well built and design ; Keyboard is a pleasure to type on
Middling battery life ; Cost is on the high side ; Stylus is optional

Impressive usability that comes at a price
Comfortable and function-rich keyboard ; Responsive trackpad ; Clear screen
So-so hinge ; Short battery life ; Awkward stylus attachments
Though better for business than the Surface Pro, the HP Elite x2 1012 G1 also suffers from poor battery life.

This Windows 8 tablet joins a handful of other new business-friendly tablets and accessories.

This hybrid hits the mark with business-friendly features
User-upgradeable; Fantastic keyboard; Good screen
Disappointing battery life
Don't be fooled by the HP Elite X2 1012's 'me-too' exterior - for larger enterprises, this powerful 2-in-1 may actually be a better option than Microsoft's Surface Pro.
