Nexus 7 2013

Following in the footsteps of the original Nexus 7, the tablet that brought Android to the masses, Google's second-generation Nexus 7 has a lot to live up to. Google has now released its new lead tablet, the Nexus 9, though at £319 it's not the...

Nexus 7 2

The new Nexus 7 2 builds on the success of its predecessor with great results

Outstanding display ; Great performance ; Sleek design ; Good value

Woeful camera ; No SD card slot

However, it’s the screen that can make or break a tablet: let’s see how it fares.

New Nexus 7 review

Supercharged with Android 4.4, the Nexus 7 is now an even better tablet

Great screen ; Affordable ; Strong battery life

A lot of storage already occupied ; Colors are slightly inaccurate ; No 64GB option

If you're looking for a 7-inch tablet, we'll put it like this: there is no better alternative on the market. It's not quite as good as the new iPad mini, but if you don't fancy iOS this is the tablet you want.

Awards 2012 Product of the Year - Portables. A cut-price, top-performing, super-portable tablet

Incredible price ; lightweight but solid build ; fast, fluid OS ; text is sharp, video detailed ; decent sound

Some gaps in app offering, especially tablet-specific apps ; some features are work in progress

Awards 2012 Product of the Year - Portables. We like the form factor and we love the price. A cut-price, top-performing, super-portable tablet

Nexus 7 tablet review (2014)

The second-generation Google Nexus 7 has been around for about a year now. The 2013 update of the Nexus 7 is still one of the best 7in Android tablets that money can buy, if not the best. And that is just as well, because the word on the street is that...

The 2013 Google Nexus 7 is more expensive than the original and sees only a small change in the design, while its exceptional screen and added rear camera help justify this price hike. It's still lacking a microSD card slot but for many people with be...
