First Impressions: A razor thin tablet running Android with a stunning 2K screen.
This is undoubtedly a special tablet. Thin, light, powerful and the first with RealSense, Dell may be on to a corker if the preproduction kinks get ironed out. We need more time with it before we decide whether RealSense is as good as we think or...

Dude, don't dismiss this ultra-thin Android tablet just because it's a Dell
Ultra-thin aluminum design ; Pixel-dense display ; Depth-manipulating cameras ; Front-firing stereo speakers
High resolution = tiny print ; Slower than other tablets ; Waiting on Android 5.0 ; 16GB of internal storage
Dell Venue 8 7000 is an Android tablet wrapped in a sleek, ultra-thin aluminum frame wrapped in an awful name. Regardless, this is the 'world's thinnest' tablet and turns out to be one of the best.

Thin is big business. And at just 6mm thick, the Dell Venue 8 7000 can call itself the world's thinnest tablet, which is a big deal. It's slimmer than

Can the PC maker trump rivals from Sony, Samsung and Apple in one go?
The Dell Venue 8 7000 is an attractive Android tablet with a super slim design, a great screen and offers smooth performance combined with good battery life. However, it's more expensive than closely matched rivals and the RealSense camera technology...

The Dell Venue 8 7000 is more than just the current titleholder of The World's Thinnest Tablet. It also has a lot of power packed into its thin profile, such as its Intel RealSense stereoscopic camera, the first I've seen on a tablet.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 is remarkably thin and lightweight with a comfortable feel. The Intel RealSense depth-sensing camera is an innovative feature and the preloaded Dell Gallery efficiently works as a central hub for photos. Its storage capacity...
There's a learning curve to using the depth-sensing camera and the photo-editing software. The tablet can get hot during long periods of use.
With its powerful 3D camera and strong image editing features the Dell Venue 8 7000 makes the strongest case yet for tablet photography.

Although Dell previewed the Venue 8 7000 at IDF (Intel Developer Forum) in September, it has not formally announce it.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 could do with a better name but it's certainly the most desirable tablet we've seen from the PC maker. It's both stylish and has some great specs including a stunning screen. The Intel RealSense technology is interesting but we...

The Dell Venue 8 7000 is the world's thinnest tablet with a stunning premium design and powerful Intel performance. Its 3D camera is overhyped, though.
Ultra-thin design ; Stunning high-res display ; Long battery life
Gimmicky Intel RealSense cameras ; Puny internal storage ; Odd camera placements on bottom
The Dell Venue 8 7000 is the sleekest Android tablet around with powerful performance and a beautiful display, but the Intel RealSense Snapshot depth camera is more gimmick than feature.

We inspect Dell's upcoming 6mm thin Android tablet with 2K display
It seems the Venue 8 7000 is charged via a standard microUSB port and features Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. As far as we could see, there weren't any other connectivity ports on the tablet.

Has Dell gone bonkers or is the Venue 8 a reimagining of the popular slate?
8.4-inch AMOLED screen ; Great computing hardware for the price ; Can recognise depth in photos with RealSense technology
Difficult form factor to type on ; Often fingers obstruct one of the depth cameras

Engadget doesn't review many tablets anymore. When it comes to Android devices, we're far more likely to write about phablets, those supersized smartphon
Well-built, very slim design ; Long battery life ; Stunning screen ; The first tablet with Intel's RealSense 3D camera setup
It's too easy to accidentally obstruct the speaker and rear camera ; Despite Intel's RealSense technology, the actual image quality is mediocre
Dell's flagship Venue 8 tablet is thin and well-made with a stunning screen and long battery life. It's one of the best Android slates you can buy, but we'd like it even more if the image quality from the camera were better -- and if it weren't so easy...
