Asus Transformer Pad TF300T

Asus blew our minds with the original Transformer. A tablet with a keyboard, we muttered, surely that's just a laptop running Android? But no, in fact it was a very clever idea: build a terrific tablet, that's both stylish and powerful, then offer a...

Great screen, keyboard is a nice addition, Asus cloud storage is useful, powerful processor, amazing video and gaming performance, design is superb

Could be considered heavy when keyboard is attached, battery life could be even better

As a stand-alone tablet, the TF300 is excellent. It's light enough for extended use, and the screen is glorious, full of detail with vivid colour. There's plenty of power here too, with media and games running with incredible smoothness.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300 review

Given their shared heritage, it's only natural to wonder how the Transformer Pad stacks up to the Transformer Prime, which is currently our top pick among Android tablets (only Apple's third-generation iPad and its iPad 2 rank higher). The answer is...

In spite of the stability issues I encountered, the Asus Transformer Pad makes for a good, large-screen, value-priced Android tablet. The extra storage you'll get will come in handy, but you'll have to be willing to sacrifice niceties like a subwoofer,...

Asus Transformer Pad TF300T Android Tablet Review

At KitGuru we test quite a wide range of products from numerous manufacturers. It would be fair to say that we look at many products from Asus but they are usually high-end motherboards or graphics cards designed with overclockers and gamers in mind....

Physical keyboard ; Quality screen ; Good battery life ; Choice of colours ; Impressive performance

Limited number of tablet friendly Android apps ; Plastic chassis feels flimsy ; Average camera

KitGuru says: An impressive tablet from Asus but we expect the market to dry up a little when the Google Nexus 7 is released at less than half the price!

Asus Transformer Pad TF300

Review It's no secret that I like the Asus Transformer Prime [1] a lot. Still, £500 is a lot for a tablet even if it does go like the clappers, is made of aluminium and has a cracking keyboard dock with a built-in extra battery.

The new Asus Transformer Pad gives you 95 per cent of the Transformer Prime experience for 80 per cent of the price - with the added bonus of reliable GPS. What you lose is negligible; what you gain - £100 - is not to be sneezed at. Our new best...

Asus Transformer Pad TF300 review

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is a decent, reasonably priced, quad-core tablet that's only real shortcoming is that it doesn't live up to the high standards set by its predecessor, the Transformer Prime.

Quad-core processor, runs Ice Cream Sandwich, good camera, comes with attachable keyboard dock

Plastic casing, screen isn't very bright

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 offers above-average performance at a semi-affordable price, but at the cost of build quality.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300 review

Is it an Android tablet? Is it a laptop? Matt Warman likes the Asus Transformer Pad TF300, whatever it is.

So the TF300 seems, in short, to make two powerful points: keyboards still have their place, and at the right price, which this currently is, a tablet makes an irresistible accessory.

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is the perfect table for entertainment

Great detachable keyboard dock, clear responsive touchscreen, excellent Tegra 3 performance, ideal for surfing the net

Hazy snaps

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is the perfect tablet for entertainment and working, with its great keyboard dock and quad-core chip

Asus Transformer Pad TF300 review

The 10.1-inch Asus Transformer Pad TF300 aims to reshape the tablet market by delivering top-tier performance at a value price. It largely succeeds in this mission, delivering performance that's on a par with its pricier Transformer Prime sibling....

In spite of the stability issues I encountered, the Asus Transformer Pad makes for a good, large-screen value Android tablet. The extra storage you'll get will come in handy, but you'll have to be willing to sacrifice niceties like a subwoofer,...

Asus Transformer Pad TF300T Review

Is the Asus Transformer a tablet or a notebook or, possibly, the best of both worlds?

Nvidia Tegra3 1.2Ghz processor ; 8MP rear camera ; Latest Android 4.0 OS ; Highly configurable ; Keyboard dock ; Vast range of apps ; Easy to use ; Will work with External HDD ; Much cheaper than the iPad

Not the brightest of screens ; Average speakers ; Unbalanced when used with dock ; No 3G

Brilliant high-quality screen, great features for the price, USB connectivity, superb battery life, excellent value for money

Not quite a laptop replacement, keyboard dock isn't as sturdy as we'd hoped

However, the combo feature just doesn't work as well as we'd hoped. The dock is not sturdy enough to bear the heavy tablet, resulting in a disappointing and overall fragile feel when put together
