Asus Transformer Pad TF300 Review: In Depth

Asus won our hearts with the incredible folding tablet-top device the Asus Transformer, then did it with the Asus Transformer Prime and now the company is looking to do it again with the Transformer Pad…

Great price ; Extensive connectivity ; Great camera ; Superb functionality

Screen could be brighter ; Low max speaker volume ; No camera flash ; Plastic build may put some off

The innards impress, and with the keyboard dock now included as a standard part of the package rather than an optional extra this tablet becomes a very appealing prospect.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300T

Nvidia Tegra3 1.2Ghz processor, 8MP rear camera, Latest Android 4.0 OS, Highly configurable, Keyboard dock, Vast range of apps, Easy to use, Will work with External HDD, Much cheaper than the iPad

Not the brightest of screens, Average speakers, Unbalanced when used with dock, No 3G

With the iPad always beating at the door of its competitors (occasionally with torches and pitchforks), they have to offer something different or unique that can tempt customers away from Apple's monster, whilst keeping the standards high across the...

Asus Transformer Pad TF300T Android Tablet Review

5 Flares 5 Flares × At KitGuru we test quite a wide range of products from numerous manufacturers.  It would be fair to say that we look at many products from Asus but they are usually high-end motherboards or graphics cards designed with overclockers...

Asus Transformer Pad TF300 review

A tablet begging to replace your netbook

Brilliant high-quality screen, great features for the price, USB connectivity, superb battery life, excellent value for money

Not quite a laptop replacement, keyboard dock isn't as sturdy as we'd hoped

The Transformer Pad uses a bespoke battery charger like Apple's Ipad. We'd prefer to see a standard charger used. It packs a 22Wh lithium-polymer battery, and Asus claims that this will last up to 10 hours on a single charge, which we found to be spot on.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is the perfect tablet for entertainment and working, with its great keyboard dock and quad-core chip

Great detachable keyboard dock, clear responsive touchscreen, excellent Tegra 3 performance, ideal for surfing the net

Hazy snaps

The Asus Transformer Pad proves it is a great device both for working and for entertainment, with great performance from that quad-core processor and an impressive keyboard dock too.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300 review

In spite of the stability issues I encountered, the Asus Transformer Pad makes for a good, large-screen value Android tablet. The extra storage you'll get will come in handy, but you'll have to be willing to sacrifice niceties like a subwoofer,...

More InfoASUS outs lower-end Transformer Pad 300 tabletASUS Transformer Pad 300 hands-onASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime reviewIt doesn't

Polished, understated design ; Great graphics performance, thanks to Tegra 3 ; IPS display offers wide viewing angles

Some performance hiccups ; Battery life not as epic as on the Prime ; Optional keyboard dock scuffs easily, still isn't that comfortable to type on

The second-gen Transformer is a clear improvement over the original, and is the best 10-inch, mid-range Android tablet you can buy right now.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300

A mild refresh of its predecessor, but at a lower price, the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 remains a top 10-inch Android tablet.

Inexpensive. Ships with Android 4.0. Quad-core Tegra 3 processor. Extremely useful optional keyboard dock. Improved camera.

Slightly dim screen. Android still lacks an abundance of easy-to-find tablet-optimized apps.

Conclusions The Transformer Prime was a top-notch tablet when it was released last year, and the TF300, which isn't vastly different, except that it's less expensive, carries that torch. But it seems like a placeholder while we wait for the Infinity...
