Asus MeMO Pad ME181C

At $199, the Asus MeMO Pad ME181C is a capable, affordable 8-inch Android tablet.

Thin and light. Affordable. Runs Android 4.4.2.

No 5GHz Wi-Fi. Some bloatware.

Conclusions The Asus MeMO Pad ME181C doesn't face nearly as much competition as its 7- and 10-inch siblings, the MeMO Pad 7 and Transformer Pad TF103C. Instead, it goes toe-to-toe with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 , but matches nearly every feature...

Asus MeMo Pad 8 white

Spec-wise, the MeMo Pad 8 is a poor contender in the budget tablet race, but its software features give it an edge on the competition. The preloaded Asus suite of apps include calibration software and an audio-enhancement app, in addition to two free...

The Asus Memo Pad 8 is a slim and lightweight slate with a colorful screen and slick user-interface. Starting at $199, it packs enough useful preloaded apps to feel like a deal.

Performance is slow if many apps are open in the background, and touchscreen response lags after being woken up.

The Asus MeMo Pad 8 is an affordable slate with tons of features, but if performance is king, faster options can be had for only $30 more.

Good tablet when it works...

Asus was a company I thought that cared about the products they put out, and the customer's they sell to. I though wrong. Poor customer service and the unwillingness to fix a minor issue leads me to never buy from them again.

Good tablet, it does what it says it does

Bought 3 of these but had to return first one bought before it was even used. It booted up and blamo, nothing. Sent it back to Asus they fixed it. 4 Months later one of the other 3 does the same thing. 6 Months now first tablet "that was fixed" quits...

ASUS ME181C-A1-WH

I just want to be clear. I hate ASUS. I bought their dainty tablet and they flicked me aside when it broke. I will never, never, never buy another ASUS product. Ever.

Nice tablet until it breaks. Terrible company

After one month the tablet started having problems charging. The usb/charger port was already failing. After two months it wouldn't charge at all. I sent it to ASUS for warranty repair (I had to pay the shipping). ASUS sent me a $203 invoice to fix it,...

MeMo

Decent cases are pain to find for this product.

Great tablet for the money ; Great sound but could be little louder ; Android system works well ; Nice and slim design (Got the purple version, actually looks darker in person which is good :) ) ; I tried a lot of tablets and own a few as well...

The only con so far after 4 months of using it is that the tablet became slower for some reason. At the start the system worked great just as fast as my other tablets and now it takes a lot more time to load the apps

Nice tablet for an affordable price

Overall this is a nice affordable compact Android tablet with solid construction, decent speed, a crisp 8" screen, multiple user support, and an easy to use interface. ** There is one issue I'd like to clear up though. Some reviewers said the front...

Crisp 8 inch screen, solid construction, clean and easy to use interface, quick processor, and multiple user account support

Some apps fail to launch or quit unexpectedly (most likely software issues), some slight lag when switching user accounts and reloading the home screen

Excellent BUY

I really don't understand why ASUS isn't getting more press. And with the new Atom 3745 processor, this tablet is better than some at twice the price point. I love mine so much, I almost didn't get the Asus because of the video res (1200X800). But glad...

Great price, screen, stereo speakers updated processor and 16 GB storage. I've installed the Samsung SDXC 64GB , class 10 card. This tablet is almost a laptop; I have over 120 apps, about 50 full CD's and two movies installed. And I've paired it with...

I really would like it if the speakers were separated, too and bottom

Bang for the buck winner

I picked this up at just the right time, on sale and with additional promo, for $145 and at that price I think it's virtually impossible to beat. I was prepared to pay $199 for it before checking NewEgg and at that price I still think it's a great...

Smooth, responsive performance with 4.4.2 KitKat, fast app loading, nice screen, lightweight, micro SD expansion, loud speaker

Camera could be better (no flash, front camera low res)
