Hands-on: A £149 Android alternative to the iPad mini.
Things have changed a lot in the budget tablet world over the past 12 months, and at a price close to the Google Nexus 7, we recommend being wary. So-so colour performance and Archos's history of shipping tablets with unstable or buggy firmware mean...

Cheap and cheerful iPad clone
Low price ; Android Jelly Bean ; Decent build quality ; miniHDMI & microSD slots
No Bluetooth or GPS ; Low quality screen ; Poor audio ; Short battery life
There are problems, issues, and 'missing' features when you compare the Archos 80 Titanium to an iPad mini, but Apple's small tablet costs twice as much. The Archos outperforms it in many areas, so if you're considering a small tablet you should...

The Archos 80 Titanium is one of four new models which form the Titanium range. It starts with the 70 (a 7in screen), and goes up to the 101 (with a 10.1in screen). The 80 and 97 sit in the middle, and there are no prizes for guessing their screen sizes.
The Archos 80 Titanium proves that you can get a decent tablet without breaking the bank. Its screen isn't high resolution, but it's a good IPS panel which matches the iPad mini for half as much. Performance is also good, as is build quality; only the...

What is it? The Archos 80 Titanium is part of the smaller tablet range. It features an 8 inch tablet, with a 4:3 display, unlike the 16:9 display that is[...]

This tablet is about as affordable as Android devices get, but is the Archos 80 Titanium a budget stunner or just too cheap?
Reasonable screen; Good build quality; Smooth application performance
Threadbare specification; Dreadful battery life; Awful camera
The Archos 80 Titanium gets it right in several key areas, with decent build quality, a reasonable screen and enough performance to enable gaming, browsing and media consumption. Its cut-down specification, poor battery life and awful camera work...

Borrowing from the best when it comes to design, the Archos 80 Titanium is a dead-ringer for a shrunken iPad 4. Looking to take on the iPad Mini and next-gen Nexus 7, can this Android slate's performance match its good looks? Read our full review to...
Relatively inexpensive, and with a very attractive design, the Archos 80 Titanium isn't half bad. It has its flaws, including its struggles with multitasking, a poor speaker and so-bad-it-wasn't-worth-including camera, but it is able to counteract...

Budget tablets are coming thick and fast and for the most part, you get what you pay for. But could the Archos 80 Titanium, withits iPad mini-matching screen, buck that trend?
Good screen, mini HDMI port, decent processor
Poor camera
As budget tablets go, the Archos 80 titanium makes a very goodcase for itself with its fine screen with solid build quality andperformance. Of course, for another 30 quid or so you could pick upa Google Nexus 7 -- more up to date software and...

Sharp, colourful mini display; Solidly built and sleek; Affordable
Below average battery life; Screen a little dim; Wi-Fi performance

Something like the Archos 80 Titanium had to happen sooner than later: months after the iPad mini created a whole new sub-category of eight-inch tablets, a cut price rival is here. The Titanium's not packing iOS of course - instead, it runs super-fast...
The Archos 80 Titanium is yet another solid offering from the French gadget maestro: the company’s cheap and flimsy past is well and truly behind it. If you want a petite slate that doesn't break the bank, this may well be it.

Low-Budget Mini? The Archos 80 Titanium - another device from the Titanium series - recently became more widely available. With an 8-inch display and an aluminum chassis the Frenchman shows similarities to the iPad Mini. We have a closer look at the...
Stylish case, Good, solid build quality, Good brightness, High contrast and rich colors, Many ports, The good looking chassis with a solid aluminum back
Small internal storage, High weight, Weak WLAN, More internal storage, 8 GB is not very much
