Held back by an old version of Android and limited app access, but once upgraded could win another star.
Flash 10.1 runs very well.

Seven inches of slimline screen with loads of storage, too. Is Archos's 70 the ultimate budget tablet?
Held back by an old version of Android and limited app access, but once upgraded could win another star.

Review Whenever I ask people what they want in a tablet, I usually get the following answers in descending order of importance: a price tag south of £200, a 7in screen to keep things compact and the ability to play any video or music files you care to...
While there are no plans from Archos to enable Android OS upgrades, if you want a tablet primarily to watch video, listen to music, read e-Books and keep on top of your e-mail and social networks, then the Archos 70 is probably all the tablet you will...

We've seen our fair share of budget tablets from the Augens, Cobys, and Viewsonics of the world over the last six months, but let's not forget that
Very thin and light ; Responsive capacitive touchscreen ; Great media playback
Crappy LCD with poor viewing angles ; Hardware feels cheap ; Sluggish at times

Device-maker Archos' new Helium Android smartphones won't rise above rivals, but budget prices are spot on.

Archos 70
The ; Android tablet includes a capable 1GHz processor, capacitive 7-inch touch screen, front-facing camera, Bluetooth, HDMI output capability, and up to 250GB of storage.
The tablet is generally sluggish, build quality feels cheap, viewing angles are crummy, and the app store is thinly stocked.
The Archos 70 offers more horsepower and features than any other tablet under $300, but its limitations make it more of a toy than a tool.
