Archos waves its magic media wand yet again, this time producing a full Honeycomb tablet
Tempting price ; Full Android 3.2 Honeycomb support ; Great for video playback ; Good battery life
Plasticy chassis ; Budget screen ; Awful camera ; Uninspired performance
What do you want from a tablet? It's a question that many reviews want you to ask yourself before invariably buying an iPad 2, but it's a question that's particularly relevant to the Archos 101 G9.

ARCHOS 101 G9 TABLET - 8GB
Expert review by : Stuff.tv (stuff.tv)
The space-age styled Gen 10 is bravely gunning for the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity 's title of best hybrid tablet in the world. A tall order, but its super-thin 8mm form, skinny magnetic keyboard and positively lean price of just £300 are a good start.

When is a tablet not a tablet? When it's an Archos 101 G9. Made by the company perhaps best known for it's portable music and video players, the Archos G9 101 places an emphasis here is more on music…
Great price point. ; Detachable 3G dongle. ; High resolution screen.
Unresponsive screen. ; Slow performance. ; Not great build quality.

What this boils down to is a tablet that’s hard to judge in overall terms. If you like swanky hardware you probably won’t like the Archos 101 G9. If you are looking for something primarily for media consumption you probably will. If you want a great...

A powerful Ice Cream Sandwich tablet for under £300, but plasticky build and an average screen sour the deal
Put through our usual suite of benchmarks, the OMAP hardware demonstrates its prowess. It scored 2770 in the Quadrant benchmark, and finished the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark in 1,603ms. That’s significantly quicker than any of the Tegra 2-powered...

The Archos 101 G9 gets a speed bump and a helping of Ice Cream Sandwich.. Archos has had its 101 G9 tablet on sale for a while now,...
Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich" is a great improvement over previous versions
Plastic construction doesn't impart a quality feel
Archos certainly owes Google a few words of thanks for the work it put into Ice Cream Sandwich, and improving the Android tablet experience. Although the 101 G9 Turbo ICS tablet does offer a minor speed bump over its predecessor, the biggest...

Certain things take a long time, this certainly in one such item, I remember seeing a pre production unit in the late spring with promise that it would ship in September 2011 but it arrived with me after the start of 2012.

Archos has been making multimedia tablet based devices for...
Good screen; handy kickstand; useful optional 3G dongle.Good screen; handy kickstand; useful optional 3G dongle
Plastic build quality
The Archos 101 G9 isn’t a looker. It’s chunky, with a plastic build that does it no favours. But it is competent, attractively priced and the optional 3G dongle is potentially quite a draw.
